## **ANNUAL REPORT OF AFRICAN WOMEN’S FORUM TO 31[ST] DECEMBER 2022**

## **General**

During 2022, with some of our members retired and some suffering from ‘long time Covid’, we have not attempted to stage any projects. We have however, supported other groups and related cultural activities in Portsmouth such as SS Mendi commemorative morning and Portsmouth Black History group’s.

## **Liberia project**

This project is continuing in the back ground and the building of the school is continuing even though it is very slow. Small amounts of money has been donated to the project by supporters

## **FGM continuing project**

This project has been included into Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police’s domain and it has been incorporated into their Harmful Practices policy for the whole Policing area and managed by their staff.

## **Finance**

Our accounts are healthy and we are careful not to overspend. Our accounts are scrutinised by a book-keeper and an overseer not connected with our organisation to make sure that these are correctly managed.

Yours truly

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE AFRICAN WOMEN’S FORUM**

Dear sir / Madam,

I was invited to scrutinise the accounts of the AWF for the year ending December 2021. I have examined the summary account provided by the AWF in detail and found the numbers and statistics in all the columns to be accurate and correct.

I also checked the entries in the summary account against the accounting records in the ledger from the AWF. These records are also accurately transferred, both individually and collectively against the summary account.

To summarise, I am happy and confident that the accounts are in order from the perspective of an examination (not an official audit) of the data and hence may be judged to be in compliance with the requirements of the Charities Act 1993.

Yours sincerely,

Mathew Court
