Introduction
As we conclude another exhilarating football season, it is with immense pride and pleasure that we present this end-of-season report to our trustees. This report aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the club's activities, achievements, and developments over the past year.
Club Overview
Benfield Juniors Football Club has continued to grow and prosper, with our membership reaching an unprecedented high of 560 young athletes. Our club remains committed to promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among children aged 6 to 16. We offer a range of girls only programs and provide the facility through our multiple teams to cater to varying skill levels, providing a supportive and nurturing environment for all participants.
Achievements
Team Performance
This season has been marked by outstanding performances from our teams across various age groups. Notably:
-
Cup Finals: We had 5 teams who secured places in their respective League and County Cup finals, with our U14 San Siro Girls securing their place in the finals of both competitions.
-
League Titles: 3 of our teams were crowned champions of their respective league
-
Under-7’s: We continue to grow at our youngest age group, ensuring we have the foundation to continue to operate for many years to come.
Individual Accolades
Several of our players have been recognised for their exceptional talent and dedication, and have progressed to Professional Academies, where they continue to grow and develop.
Development Programs
Our club has continued to invest in the development in our facilities:
-
Application to review our current ground and maintenance has been submitted, to attempt to improve drainage and surface conditions for our Grass pitches.
-
Newcastle Benfield Reserves team has been created, linked to Newcastle Benfield FC, and links to our older junior groups to integrate and feed this senior team has begun this season.
Future Plans
As we look ahead to the next season, we are enthusiastic about the plans we have in place to further enhance our club:
-
Expansion of Facilities: Plans are underway to develop new walkway areas and improvements to the entrance for improved disable access.
-
Office Space: Conversion of a storage container to office space is planned.
-
Improved Fencing and Shrub Maintenance: Fenced area for goal storage and removal of wasteland shrubs to improve aesthetics and safety of the general facilities.
-
Ground and Pitch Maintenance: Grants have been agreed and training requirements arranged to improve the surfaces and drainage of our pitches, meaning more games and training will avoid the negative impact of inclement weather.
-
Storage Areas: Storage containers have been delivered and will be allocated for club and coaches' equipment.
