Description of the Charity

The Charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with voting members other than its charity trustees, and its governing document is the Constitution registered on 6 April 2017.

Objects and activities

The objects of the Charity are to further or benefit the residents of Holme and the neighbourhood, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents.

The charity was formed by the committee of Holme Village Residents Association (HVRA) for the purpose of holding a property in the village of Holme, formerly owned and occupied by the members of Holme Village Institute (HVI), in which the above objects could be achieved. The members of HVI had agreed to assist these aims by providing funds and donating its property and assets to the charity.

Prior to the registration of the charity a number of surveys of the property and the employment of an architect were funded by grants obtained by HVRA and by donations from HVI. Plans drawn up for the changes to the property were submitted and funded by HVI and were approved in February 2018. Prior to completion of the transfer of the property on 18°" July 2018, HVRA agreed to meet the cost of a highway survey and architects’s fees relating to the property on the understanding that the amount of £1726 would be a loan to the charity, repayable when funds became available.

Trustees Annual Report for the period ended 31* July 2023

During this financial year plenty of progress has been made. The 3 phase electric was installed. AH Construction were employed to oversee and carry out the works on the building. We now have completed all the first fix building, plumbing and electrics and are awaiting the building inspector to pass these off, so the insulation and plastering can be done, along with second fix plumbing and electrics. We should then be ready to open the ground floor.

Declaration

| declare, in my capacity of charity trustee, that - the trustees have approved the report above; and - have authorised me to sign it on their behalf.
