Objectives and activities
Aims
The aim of Happy Homes centres around the idea of relieving needs poverty among children living in orphanages and/or living in poverty with their families. Happy Homes is rooted in the philosophy that all children should be given a solid, supportive home foundation that nurtures and facilities their development. Happy Homes operates with families and organisations that care for children such as orphanages. We believe that the home environment is crucial in the development of children and plays a key role in their success as adults.
Operating within Orphanages:
Many orphanages particularly in Eastern Europe, Asia and south America sometimes lack the necessities to look after children, this may be due to a number of reasons, not enough sta to care for the children, lack of money to provide resources. These necessities include regular nutritional meals, clothing, educational equipment, bedding and adequate space, safe building. The aim in orphanages are:
-
To make these places which children identify as their home to feel more like a home.
-
Have a positive impact on the lives of these children, by eectively providing the orphanages with the means to meet their basic needs. We hope it will have an eect on their wellbeing and positive change in dierent aspects of their lives whether that be educational or personal and give them a solid foundation from which they can strive to achieve.
Operating within Families:
provide safe, nurturing homes for their children.
- Happy Home aims to help parents provide the basic necessities for their children.
Strategies:
Two main routes we help families and organisations that care for children.
-
money accordingly to fulfil the needs
-
Resource support: We provide the resources needed. This can include bedding, clothing, furniture, building materials, educational resources etc.
assessment and discussion. We assess the needs of the children and the quality/state of their home. The trustees will use all resources available to them to decide what is needed the most that will have a positive, immediate impact on helping improve the home environment and wellbeing of these children or child.
Activities:
year. Due to the trustees other responsibilities, it has been diicult to navigate the future of the Charity and so a meeting will need to take place with all Trustees to discuss whether they would like to keep the Charity going. If the Trustees decide to keep the Charity going a review of the Constitution and management of the Charity will need to take place.
Due to inactivity, we have lost the Domain for our website.
As we still hold the funds from before we would aim to have a discussion as to what charity would fit our ethos and donate remaining funds.
Future goals:
The charity has been dormant and in moving forward, we will set up smaller goals and discuss if we are still willing to rebuild the charity. The following are our goals:
-
We hope to use the money from previous fundraisers to help an orphanage in the Philippines.
-
Make a decision regarding the future of Happy Homes
