Objectives and activities

Aims

The aim of Happy Homes centres around the idea of relieving needs poverty among children living in orphanages and/or living in poverty with their families. Happy Homes is rooted in the philosophy that all children should be given a solid, supportive home foundation that nurtures and facilities their development. Happy Homes operates with families and organisations that care for children such as orphanages. We believe that the home environment is crucial in the development of children and plays a key role in their success as adults.

Operating within Orphanages:

Many orphanages particularly in Eastern Europe, Asia and south America sometimes lack the necessities to look after children, this may be due to a number of reasons, not enough staff to care for the children, lack of money to provide resources. These necessities include regular nutritional meals, clothing, educational equipment, bedding and adequate space, safe building. The aim in orphanages are:

Operating within Families:

Many families living in poverty, parents unable to get financial security and stability to provide safe, nurturing homes for their children.

3

Strategies:

Two main routes we help families and organisations that care for children.

.

How we decide which route provides the most effective and beneficial help is through assessment. We assess the needs of the children and the quality/state of their home. The trustees speak to the children one on one as well as the caregivers to decide what is needed the most that will have a positive, immediate impact on helping improve the home environment and wellbeing of these children or child.

: Activities

The charity has been inactive for the past year we still hold the funds raised in a separate bank account. Due to the management adjustments it has been difficult to navigate the future of the Charity but all members have stablished that they would like to keep the Charity going. We also established that a much needed look at the Constitution and management of the Charity is overdue and have scheduled to hold a board meeting for this.

Due to inactivity we have lost the Domain for our website.

As we still hold the funds from before we would aim to again make contact with an orphanage in the Philippines that we have visited before to discuss ways to help them.

Future goals:

The charity has been dormant and inactive for the past year due to trustees personal issues and management adjustments. In moving forward we set up small goals for the near future to help rebuild the charity.
