Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 Despite the difficulties present by the
covid pandemic the cricket club has
provided a lot of cricket during the 2021
cricket season. Due to covid rules
changing facilities were not fully used or
indeed refreshments provided, in most
cases players supplied their own food
and drink. A particular problem has been
the inability due to covid to use the
Community Pavilion which was closed
for much of the time reflected in the
audited annual accounts. However, as
soon as limited use of community
facilities became possible we assisted
organisations to get started again.
The cricket club is very grateful to the
support given by the government through
West Suffolk Council which enabled the
club to maintain its significant running
costs of the community pavilion during
the difficult time.

Additional information (optional) You may choose to include further statements where relevant about:

Achievements against
objectives set
Para 1.41 The cricket club has continued to achieve
its aim of providing cricket during
challenging times and supporting
community groups through provision of
its facilities.
Performance of fundraising
activities against objectives
set
Para 1.41 The cricket club has had an outstanding
year in terms of fund raising. The club
has a particular need to replace the very
old outdoor cricket nets practice
facilities, the aim is to provide a third lane
and provide a new state of the art
enclosed facility which will be much safer
(especially) for disabled and young
persons) as cricket balls cannot leave the
nets.
On Friday July 23rd 2021 the club hosted
a match against the PCA England
Legends made possible as covid
restrictions were lifted a few days earlier.
The match raised in the region of £21,000
which is the reason the accounts show
such a healthy surplus. In addition the
day produced a donation toward the West
Suffolk Hospital My Wish Charity appeal
in support of the NHS.
Investment performance
against objectives
Para 1.41 We do not have specific investment
targets as funds do not currently allow
investments.
