## **Vision 4 Youth Chair’s Report 2023-24**

Hello all,

We have had a very busy year when we have welcomed working closely with Rev Faith Bailey at St Barnabas Church, Darby Green. The church has continued to work with us so warmly, providing us with a base from which to provide two services for young people in Frogmore and Darby Green. This year’s new club, Blackwater Youth Club, is now meeting there, run by Sally. It is growing well and we look forward to the completion of the building work at St Barnabas which will offer the club more space and opportunities.

Vision 4 Youth has continued to successfully offer the community our clubs at the Tythings Youth Suite:

- **Creative Club,** Tuesdays, for 11 to 18 years old run by Jacqui.

- **Youth Club,** Thursdays, for 11 to 14 years old run by Jacqui and Sally.

- **Friday Night Youth Club** , for 11 to 18 years old run by Sally and Macy.

- **Blue Sky Club** , for 11 to 18 years old for young neurodiverse people run by Greg.

And at St Barnabas Church, Darby Green:

- **Blackwater Youth Club** , Wednesdays for 11 to 18 years old run by Sally.

- **Darby Green Youth Café** , for an 11 to 25 age range run by Natasha.

In addition, we have continued with:

- **Detached Youth Work.** We run the detached youth work once a week in both locations.

- **HAF (Holiday Activities & Food)** over the school holidays was offered again this year at The Youth Suite.

- **Social Prescribing** led by Karla Wilding

We have welcomed two new Trustees this year, which gives us a strong team of dedicated volunteers without whom we would not be able to offer all of the above. I rely totally on their experience and expertise and their financial wisdom. On a special note, I want to thank Claire Rolstone, who is stepping down as a Trustee. Claire has generously shared her HR skills with V4Y for a number of years. She will be much missed, and we wish her well.

We also value Yateley Town Council’s provision of the Youth Suite and being so prompt in their support after the devastating vandalism at The Tythings this year.

I want to thank Cllr Stuart Bailey and Cllr Peter Wildsmith for their financial support for the charity. We are very pleased to be one of the chosen charities of the new Mayor, Mark Griffin.

I want to take this opportunity to express my thanks to **everyone** for their continued support and hard work to provide our local youth with a multitude of services and safe spaces to spend their leisure time. Thank you to V4Y supporters: the Co-op and Sainsburys, Lefevres, St Peter’s and St Barnabas Churches and the Town Council. My especial thanks go to all the staff and volunteers. None of these clubs and activities would happen without you and you all make an incredible difference to the lives and outlook of our local young people.

Chair of Trustees V4Y

Pam Phelps-Jones
