## Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

The main achievement has been the continued organisation of events which successfully bring the school community together and forge stronger relationships and friendships:

- Our September 2021 Cream Tea was a welcome back event held at the start of the school year. The attendance was fantastic and as in previous years, it was great fun and a chance for new families to meet the wider school community.

- We raised £613.11 for Macmillan Cancer Support with the support of our generous parents.

- Our Annual General Meeting was held in October 2021.

- In December 2021, we held our annual FJKS Christmas Market on a small scale with no external stalls to reduce the risk of Covid-19 and the party for the parents. We had a highly successful event and raised £2,501.85 from the market and merchandise for FJKS and £285.65 from the Christmas Party held at the Abode in Canterbury which was enjoyed by many.

- In January 2022, Burns Night was cancelled due to pandemic.

- In February 2022, Chinese New Year event was cancelled due to pandemic but we sold merchandise via the website and raised £364.11

- In March 2022, our popular Madhatter’s Tea Party event which plays off on the Easter theme and involves cake baking and hat parade competitions again was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are immensely proud to have gifted some beautiful Easter treats to every pupil in School.

- In May 2022, we sold cakes and raised £287, donating £300 to Ukraine Appeal.

- In June 2022, we had our highly anticipated Summer Ball which was a roaring success. We raised an enormous £49,038.26 at the event. We’ve received

£33,288.26 so far and waiting on £15,750.00 from the pledgers/donors. Reminders have been sent few times. £31,278.27 has been paid out to the charities so far. Remainder will be paid out as soon as we receive it.

- The second-hand uniform shop raised £3,623.69, once again showing what a valuable service, this is for parents.

FJKS has continued to support Classlist, a secure online address book, messaging and event tracking system, which was launched in June 2017. About 98% of parents are registered on Classlist which makes the communication between parents and between FJKS and parents of events/meeting/birthday parties much easier and more efficient.

## **Donations made during the year**

## **Section E                    Financial review**

**Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves**

FJKS currently operates a single bank account and petty cash. Cashflows vary depending on the nature of events held and the amount of sales through the second hand uniform shop. Hence there is no typical 3-9 month level.

We aim to keep our cash balance at a minimum level of £1,500 so that there is sufficient working capital to fund event payments which may arise before event income has been received.

**Details of any funds materially in deficit**

None

**Further financial review details (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include additional information, where relevant about:

- the charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising);

- how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity;

- investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted.

The main sources of income continue to be from events and proceeds from the sale of second-hand uniform. We achieved an overall income of £9,498.41 via bank transactions and £1233.05 in cash this year which is part of petty cash at the moment making a total of £1633.05. We have paid out £29,219.55 to the designated charities.

The year-end cash balance is £ £38,689.08 (£17,450 ringfenced for Cricket Pavilion and £3127.827 received from the Ball committee for a project that needs to be finalised).

## **Section F Other optional information**
