Camden Spark is Camden's Local Cultural Educatlon Partnership (LCEP). Camden Spark
became a Charitable Incorporated Organisatyon (n 20 March 2017 and has since grown its
Board of TNstees and begun lo im￿eMent its strategy and busines5 plan.
Following the departure of tts Programme Manager in March 2023, Camden Spark's work has
been supported by a se￿nded 0.5 FTE Arts Development Officer from Camden Council. Over
the reporting period. this capouty has enabled Camdeii Spafk to further its charitable objeLtsve¥,
to run a programme of 8clivities, a5 vdl as t￿11￿￿ to devdop strategic partnerships in the

In June 2022 Camden Spark was a¥warded £15,000 in Transilion FuTrJiThJ from A New Direclion.
supported wth in-kind match funding by Camden c￿n¢￿. In February 2023 Camden Spark
requested and was granted a Sh￿ extenston on the Transition Fund period. which allowed activity
to continue until erKI of April 2023. The wsmary request lo the extension was to complete the fir51

furKling enabled Camden Spark to undertake first-hand youth wce work with youry people lo
understand their experiences of cuRure in Camden. a￿1 ItEir h(w f￿ ftlture engagement with
the ￿. The final report ofthis was reeENed at the stsrt ofttms reporting period arKI provided
a basis for strategi¢ planning aTh1 f￿￿raisir￿j for r￿a1nder of the funding period.
Early in the reporting period. Carnden Spark received a £20,0￿ donation from a r£¢rporale
supporter. The supporter has asked to remain anonymcAts. Tr funding was provided
unrestricted to SLJPPOrt the charity in its core Operat￿)nS.
In order to support engagement *fjth, arKI urwjerstanding of. the ¢xdlwal and creative educali
landscapes, trustees regularly read and discuss research from these fiekls. This takes place in
board meetws to support strategic decision-making and plaming.

It provided the charlty's truslees and staff V4ith an evidenced ￿)derstandIng of how a range of
young people in the borough w0￿d like to ergage with the charity, and vthh cultural edU￿tIOn
opportunities. The report Mfflu￿ced Camden Spark's strategic plannlng and helped lo IdentSfy
key pro)ects of focus for this perKxI arKI beyorKI.
Buslness plan update and SMART oblecllvg8
In the flrst half of Ihis reportiThJ pefi(xl. Ca￿KIen Spark developed a new business plan for the
period 202>2028 to tAJild on our previous suc￿Sses, aThJ lo address the rEed in cuttural
education ecosyslem in Camden. The agreed docwnent has been shared v￿th stakeholdeis in
Ihe borough. The business plan ind￿JeS a refreshed I￿Ory of tharyje, the super impact of￿1¢h
is that 'AII children and YOWKJ people in Camden I)￿ffl tr￿1 a powful culluTal education
and have equitable ac￿5$ to the f￿taStiC creative assets ofCanKlen and London.. The business
plan also inclLths an updated fundraisir¥J plan arKI a seties of SMART obJ"ectives.
Accompanyyng the busi￿5 plan. a strategic ath'mty plan has been (¥eated to Trdentify the artions
required to achieve each of our broader obiecli%es. This plan is regularly RAGged by trustees to
show progress against each of ts irKlividual actions arKI ￿ INoader goals.

Part of our fundrwsing ￿annIng has been to explore a diver51fied nwne stream. Post-pandemic,
it has proven more difficult for ts chanty lo attracl furKling from trusts aThJ foundations. Whlle
trLISt aTKJ foundation support will continue to be tl* fo¢u$ of ow ffiJndThsirwJ efforts because of
allgnment belween our charitable obJ"ective$ and those of fundiThJ bodies, we have also
approached C￿porate wganisations for SLPPCKI. as ￿*11 as starting our first individual giving
CaMpa￿n Ihrough the creation ol a JustGi¥ing function on ow %4ebsite. Small donations have so
far been received using this tool dunng this reportirKJ peritrj.
Cr•allvo Collaboratlon Fund
Camden Spark continued to disburse funds as pwt of tts Creati¥e Collaboration Fund. using
funding from Camden Culture Service. Six schools - each ￿1th a partner cultural organisation -
benefrtefj from the scheme that saw teachers aThJ artist educatlxs collalx)rate to build projects
that spoke to each schools, need aTrJ the lrteresls of pup'ls and students. Tr schools and
cultural organi881ions have been aske(1 to report on Iheir projects so thal alms, methodologies
and outcomes ean be shared V*ithin and beyond our nefv4ork to support other schools and cultural
organisations in deVelo￿ng pT(KJramme5 thal ha￿ an Impa￿ on children and yourvJ people.
Camdonian
Workjng ￿lItt Camden Art Centre, the sdiods engagen￿nt progranwne accompanylrvJ the
redevelopment of ItE public sculptwe, Camdonian, conlinued to be delivered dunNJ this period.
Classes in tvK primary schools and secormlary school partryated in a series of workshops
ilh artist$ from Camden Art Centre. The thshops In￿l¥ed vlsits to see the sculpture as V￿11
as lo work in the studios at Camden Art Centre, and the artists visiting each of the schools,
culrninating in the young people creating their sculpture maquetles. A resource k8 being
develcwj to accompany Ihis Pfogranmne - for distribuiion to sCh￿ts and ac￿$$ by famllles -
and a celebration event take place when the prqect cultT#nates.
STEAM Work Experlenco
Camden Spark partiopated in the Camden Leaming4ed STEAM Work wrience programme
In J￿Y 2023, wlth a Pfogramme entitled '8ehiNI the Scenes of Caffthn's thatNe Venues,. We
bi¥lt on our suc￿Ssful 2021 Virtual Work Expe￿n￿ programme lo develop a unique in-per50n
car￿se1 model, alltrmng small and medium-sized and ueative organisalions to take
part without having to comrnil to a fijll of delivery.
