## **Report of the Trustees**

The Trustees present this report and financial statements for the year ended 30th November 2020.

## Structure Governance and Management

Humanity Gives Charity was originally known as Rizq4all. Rizq4all was a non-forprofit organisation which operated from September 2015 until March 2017.

Rizq4all originally registered as a Charity in March 2017, however the name was amended on July 27th 2017 to Humanity Gives following a management restructure.

The Trustees are responsible for the governance and management of Humanity Gives which is a Cause led charity and has 6 main themes.

Mrs Nahida Parween and Mr Rizwan Ahmed are responsible for convening the Investment and financial committee which is responsible for investment policy and asset allocation as well as raising funds.

Mr Thariq Khaliq has overall responsibility for Humanity Gives both for its short term, operational approaches as well as longer term, strategic goals. He has handed over the reins to Ms Nahida Parween to focus more on rebuilding Humanity Gives.

Humanity Gives Purpose and Objects

Humanity Gives is governed by a CIO Foundation Constitution governing document.

It has 5 Trustees it’s governing document stipulates a minimum number of 3.

Its purpose (objects) is “To provide grants and donations for such charitable purposes, for the public benefit, that are exclusively charitable according to the Laws of England and Wales as the Trustees may from time to time determine”

Humanity Gives supports general charitable purposes through its grant-making and other work and activities and it is well established that such activities benefit both individuals and society as a whole.

We operate primarily in the UK as well as our orphan appeal in Morocco.

## **Chairman’s Review**

2019/2020 has been a very stressful year like most other charities with the impending Corona virus pandemic no one had thought we would be in the predicament we were faced in.

With the loss of our bid writer and admin staff this was a very heavy blow as a charity we are dependent upon the good will of our volunteers. At one stage it looked like we would have to fold our work but two unexpected life lines came through,

namely a bid from the National Lottery which meant our initial project to help Romani families by setting up workshops to support their integration into the larger community had to be tweaked to support Romani families in poverty as most were using school meal vouchers to feed the entire family.

Another bid from the Cloth Workers organisation meant that we could finally refit our warehouse unit with new shelving and printers.

Two of our Trustees have handed their resignations, however they kindly agreed to stay on until the end of 2020.

For 2020/2021, we are not too sure on where we are heading, we managed to support our Orphan appeal but there appears to be more work needed closer to home. The next few years will be an interesting time for Humanity Gives.

This is my final review. I have handed over the reins to Nahida Parween I am delighted that she will be taking Humanity Gives by the reins in early 2020. I will focus more on the operational side of the charity and allow her the opportunity to rebuild Humanity Gives.
