whole.|Para 1.20|In 24/25 the people of Kambia District set
up a Community Based Organisation(CBO)
which will become the vehicle for the
interaction between them and the NGOs
who are working for the benefit of Kambia
District, predominantly the “Kambia
Appeal”. This has resulted in our funding
allocation being even more recipient driven,
within the terms of our mission to improve
the healthcare of women and children in
Kambia District. We have a Memorandum
of Understanding with the CBO.
During 24/25 work was completed on the
refurbishment of both Layagboray and
Macoth PHUs. Work was started on
Magbethy PHU. These projects continue to
be enthusiastically and gratefully received
by the communities they serve, the CBO
and the District Health Management Team.
We expanded our education programme
and in 24/25 were funding up to 10 local
students who are all studying in Sierra
Leone. The courses they are following will
lead to qualifications which will allow them
to work towards the Kambia Appeal
mission.
One student graduated in 24/25, with a BSc
in Community Health Sciences. Two
scholarships were awarded in 24/25. One
was a scholarship to become a State
Registered Nurse and the other to study for
a BSc(Hons) in Community Health and
Clinical Sciences.
We were very grateful to receive donations

Expenditure reduced, however, albeit
including the refurbishment of a further
PHU.
The Trustees have continued to consider
the ongoing life and activities of the Charity.
They are very much aware that its
continued existence is to some extent
dependent on the level of funds held and,
as such, efforts continue to add to these
funds going forward.
In the opinion of the Trustees the level of

March 2025, is adequate for short term
