Kyle’s Goal has continued its mission in 2022 to raise awareness of Brain injuries in Wales and the effects on the survivors and their families. Following a successful Charity Ball fundraiser in 2019, to raise funds to commission the ‘Time for Change Wales’ report, Kyle’s Goal held another Charity Ball to promote the now published paper Time for Change Wales - United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (ukabif.org.uk). Kyle’s Goal are part of the steering committee to help ensure appropriate provision of services and support for people with an Acquired Brain Injury in Wales', is being considered by the Welsh Senedd. Along with other charities and organisations, including United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF), The Children’s Brain Injury Trust (CBIT) and Swansea University, the committee finalised the _‘Acquired Brain Injury and Neurorehabilitation in Wales: Time for Change’_ report in 2021 covering the Key recommendations across five areas - Neurorehabilitation, Education, Criminal Justice, Sport-related Traumatic Brain Injury and the Welfare Benefits System – with each highlighting the urgent need for the provision of services and support for people with ABI in Wales to be reviewed. Following a Petition submitted to the Senedd, the 2022 Charity Ball showcased the publication to the 300 attendees at the event. The report was introduced by Chloe Hayward – Executive Director of UKABIF, who was accompanied by Eleanor Bryant, who has received a funded role to work on the project alongside the steering group. The event also received support from Stokes Case Management, who’s Director Rhiannon Stokes talked about the effects of Brain Injury on individuals and the families they support.
