_To benefit the children and young people residing in Donisthorpe, Leicestershire and surrounding communities by providing facilities for education, recreation and other leisure time occupations. The children and young people who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, poverty, financial hardship or social or economic circumstances in the interest of social welfare and with the object of_ 

- _1) Improving their conditions of life_ 

- _2) Developing their potential skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible adults._ 

The trustees are pleased to present their fifth annual report since registering as a CIO in March 2017. 

Donisthorpe Youth club is now in its 10th year. Following closure by the pandemic the youth club successfully opened its doors on 6[th] September 2021. Two open evenings had taken place during August to encourage old members to return and to encourage new members particularly from the new year 7 young people. 

A party was held to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Donisthorpe Youth Club, with members from the past 10 years invited. Special thanks must go to Ade, Alison and Kay who have kept this essential amenity running. 



Several trips have taken place since September including visits to the cinema, bowling alley, ski center and laser quest. All have been well attended with volunteers having as much fun as the young people. 

The weekly meetings have been well attended with between 20 and 30 young people attending on a regular basis. However, we must continue to recruit more volunteers to assist on youth club evenings to ensure continuity as young people (and their parents) move on. 

The youth club was awarded Heritage Lottery funding in 2019, and the project was almost completed when it was halted by the lockdown. Work has continued on a heritage walk around the village, with a map detailing points of interest, and also a slide show of photos collected during the project. A Heritage Day has been arranged as part of the project with many local groups promising to attend. 

Finally, thank you to all Trustees, committee members and volunteers for their support to Donisthorpe Youth Club over the past year. 

AIMS FOR 2022-2023 

- To continue the safe running of the youth club ensuring any new and existing regulations are adhered to. 

- To promote the youth club and plan a varied program of educational and fun activities 

- To continue fundraising to purchase equipment for outside activities. To organize and subsidise trips 

- Ensure any new volunteers, committee members and Trustees have the relevant experience and skills for these roles. 

- Ensure all safeguarding checks are complete for any new and existing volunteers, committee members and trustees.
