_To benefit the children and young people residing in Donisthorpe, Leicestershire and surrounding communities by providing facilities for education, recreation and other leisure time occupations. The children and young people who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, poverty, financial hardship or social or economic circumstances in the interest of social welfare and with the object of_ 

- _1) Improving their conditions of life_ 

- _2) Developing their potential skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible adults._ 

The trustees are pleased to present their fourth annual report since registering as a CIO in March 2017. 

Donisthorpe Youth club is now in its 9th year. The last youth club session was held on March 9[th] 2020. The coronavirus pandemic closed down all further sessions until the present time and halted completion of the Heritage project. 

The weekly meetings were well attended prior to lockdown and it is hoped this will continue when we are able to reopen. However, we must continue to recruit more volunteers to assist on youth club evenings to ensure continuity as young people (and their parents) move on. 

The youth club was awarded Heritage Lottery funding in 2019, and the project was almost completed when it was halted by the lockdown. Work will continue as and when possible, on a heritage walk around the village 



with a map detailing points of interest, and also a slide show of photos collected during the project. 

The Youth Club received a £10,000 COVID grant from NWLDC to ensure its future. 

Finally, thank you to all Trustees, committee members and volunteers for their support to Donisthorpe Youth Club over the past year, albeit virtual support. 

## AIMS FOR 2021-2022 

- To safely re-open the youth club ensuring all Covid 19 guidelines are followed 

- To promote the youth club and plan a varied program of educational and fun activities 

- To continue fundraising to purchase equipment for outside activities. To organize and subsidise trips 

- Ensure any new volunteers, committee members and Trustees have the relevant experience and skills for these roles. 

- Ensure all safeguarding checks are complete for any new and existing volunteers, committee members and trustees. 

- To complete the Discovering Donisthorpe-A Snapshot of Times project.
