Our trustees are local people who are|
||closely involved withtheproject.|
||The CIOholdsalltheleases-themain factory site,thevisitorcentre|
||site,andthestrip oflandto the north ownedbytheneighbouringWindsor|
||family.All threeleasesareregistered.Theaccountsof theolderTrust<br>have now been closed andthefunds transferredto theClO.TheCIO|
||also now claimsGiftAidinsteadoftheTrust.|
||Ourfinancial security duringtheCovid19pandemicwasassistedby|
||'HospitalityandLeisure Grants'from SouthSomerset DistrictCouncil.|
||These covered our ongoing unavoidable expenses.|
||OurHeritage LotteryfundedrestorationprojectcompletedonMarch30th,|
||2020-justastheCovid lockdownbegan.Butafter aperiodofcompete<br>closure, we decided that, as most of ourworksiseither outside, oropens|
||directly to theoutside,wecouldopen to thepublicattimes whenpublic|
||houses were allowedtoserve customersoutside.Asaresult,Dawe's|
||becameaplace where localgroupssuch astheWl,bell-ringers anda|
||Royal Navy Military Wives Choir cametomeet outsideassoonas|
||restrictions wereeased.|
||2022 has seenaresumptionof'normal'opening, includingmanygroup|
||visitsby U3As, Probus, local history societies and car clubs.|
||Asrestorationofthe Victorianworksbeganabout15yearsago,wenow|
||are finding areas where repairshavetoberedone.|
||Feedbackfromvisitors continuestobeexcellent and donationsfromour|
||visitors are covering our outgoings|
