| TheCIOholdsallthreesiteleases-themain factory site,thevisitor | |

| Previousyears weredominatedbytheLotteryHeritageFunded | |
| restoration of the Victorian Twineworks.Wesubmitted our25thandfinal | |
| report and claim on scheduleonMarch30th,202A.having completedall | |
| theessential andvirtuallyall the desired elements oftheproject. | |
| Theonsetofthepandemicbroughtcancellation,oratleast | |
| postponement,ofvisitsbookedbygroups andexternaltalks(which | |
| usually lead tovisits)by our Chairman, Ross Aitken. | |
| WewereunabletohostOpenDays until late Junewhenrestrictions were | |
| easedandwehad requestsfromlocal clubs(W,bellringers etc)tovisit | |
| our outsidespacetomeet. Many of these people, being older, hadbeen | |
| 'shielding' orinselfisolationfor somemonthsanditwasgoodto seeour | |
| community space used andvalued.Wewereabletoservetea,coffee, | |
| cakeetc. | |
| Later,wecouldresumeopen days and tours,giventhatallourold | |
| building rooms have an outsidedoor.\Aleallowedone'bubble'intoeach | |
| room.We were not abletoopen the visitorcentretopeople,butwedid | |
| serverefreshmentsfromit,andwe didmove objectsandexplanations | |
| outside,andwe did runmachinery havingset upasecondworking | |
| treatmentrun. | |
| Working withintherules,we successfully hostedaweddingreceptionfor | |
| alocal couplewhomanagedtomarry between lockdowns. | |
| Everythingended in lateSeptemberwith thesecond lockdown, andwe | |
| remained closeduntilApril2021. | |
| lnspring2020itwassuggestedthatweapplyfora'hospitalityand | |
| leisure' grant fromSSDCtohelpcover our complete lossofincomeand | |
| ourongoing expenses (heating, insurance, waste treatment,firealarms | |
| etc). Ourapplicationwassuccessful,andwehave hadtwofurther | |
| supplements.Toqualifyforthegrants,wehadtobeonthelocal | |
| business ratesregister-anissue never addressed followingtheSSDC | |
| compulsory purchasein2005.Fortunately,we were given not onlythe | |
| 80% rates discount duetocharities, but alsotheremainingdiscretionary | |
| 20o/o. | |
| Duringlockdownourhistorian, Richard Sims,hasbeen workingona | |
| monograph coveringtheuseofCoker Canvasfor theAmerica'sCup | |
| yachts, andwe were lent andcopiedan18thcentury sailclothstamp | |
| foundlocally. | |
| Lookingfonrardto stagedre-openingfrom April to June2021 as allowed | |
| bythegovernment'stimetable, we employed professionallandscapers to | |
| cut back andtidyalmostawholeyea/sgrowth of grass,bushes, weeds andtrees.The siteisnowveryneatandismanageablebyour volunteers.Avolunteer'workday'sawalltheoldbuildingsswept, |
