The object of the association shall be to
advance such charitable purposes (according to
the laws of England and Wales) as the trustees
see fit. In particular, but not limited to, the
promotion of agriculture and improvement of the
breeding of Dutch Spotted Sheep (hereafter
called DSS) and includes sheep known as
Nederlands Bonte Schaap and the maintenan
of the purity of the breed. Nothing in the
constitution shall authorise an application of the
property of the CIO for the purposes which are
not charitable in accordance with section 7 of
the charities and trustees investment {Scotland)
act 2005 and section 2 of the charities act
(Northem Ireland) 2008.

{1) Member flocks increased from 955 at 1
May 2024 to 1125 registered flocks at 30
April 2025

(2) To date 35949 sheep have been registered
at 30 April 2025
(3) Promotion of the breed at local, Royal
shows and other agricultural events across
the country increased with many local and
regional shows offering a range of classes
specific to the breed.
(4) The National Show was held at Great
Yorkshire Show in 2025.
(5) An increased number of Dutch Spotted
Sheep Society affiliated breed sales were
arranged and held in Carlisle and
Welshpool, Swatragh, Junction 36, Melton
Mowbray, Worcester, Exeter, Thainstone
and others, offering in-person sales with
many also offering online bidding available.
{6) Promotional banners were added in
Auction sltes across the UK in 2022- and
contsnued in 2023-4
(7) Junior members are encouraged and
involved in showing.
(81 New breed stands purchased and
distributed regionally have given easier
access and availability to them across the
UK
(9) Cross bred lambs are gaining further
interest in commercial markets
(10} Our website is constantly updated to give
up to date information to members and
enthusiasts

{11) Social media- FB followers increased to
over 10,000 in the year.
The Society continues to promote the breed
across social media, via its own website and
the breed is often featured on various TV
farming programmes. A range of short
promotional videos have been shot by the
society for use on breed stands and social
media and there are plans to add more. Dutch
Spotted Sheep are regularly discussed and
featured on social media pages other than its
own.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above
charity ('Ihe Trust") for the year ended 3010412025.
Responsibilities and
basis of report
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011
('the Act.).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 145(51(b) of the Act.
Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have
examiner's statement come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me
cause to believe that in, any material respect..
the accounting records were not kept in accordan￿ with section 130
of the Charities Act; or
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records-. or
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements
concerning the fom and content of accounts set out in the Charities
(Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement
that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view which is not a matter
considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection
with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in
order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
