*Horrabridge Rangers Sports Association Secretary End of Season Report 2023-24*

As we draw the curtains on yet another successful season, it is with great pride and satisfaction that I reflect on the achievements and milestones of the Horrabridge Rangers Sports Association. This season has been marked by remarkable performances across all our teams, demonstrating the unwavering dedication and hard work of our players, managers, coaches, and volunteers. We held our 1[st] volunteer recognition club awards which was very successful.

*Cup and League Achievements*

Our teams have shown tremendous resilience and skill, securing numerous cup victories and league titles. Especially the Under-15 Girls who clinched the League & League Cup double, closely followed by the U17 Girls who won League Cup & runners up slot, showcasing their growing talent and determination. We had 8 teams reach cup finals: - U7, U8, U9 Girls, U10, U11 Girls, U12, U15 Girls & U17 Girls. The new open age Ladies, not to be outdone in their 1[st] season, secured a runners up finish in the Devon League - South & West Division, a testament to their consistent performance throughout the season. This is proof that the future of Horrabridge Rangers is indeed bright.

*Devon FA Awards and Recognitions*

This season, we also garnered recognition at the county & national level. Our club was honoured with the Devon FA Club of the Year Award for our commitment to diversity, additional football initiatives, coaches’ education & wider footprint in the region. This accolade reflects the values we uphold and the positive environment we strive to create for all our members. Furthermore, our 1[st] team manager Lee Simpson, was awarded the Devon FA Bobby Moore Award to recognise his commitment fundraising (50/50 Draw, Horse Racing nights, Meavy Oak Fayre, Horrabridge Village Fayres - Beat the Keeper), giving a wider focus on HRSA through our rural community. Natasha Daniels was also recognised for the Lionesses Award for the ‘Girls do Football’ Girls only coaching initiative, a well-deserved recognition for her exceptional contributions to youth football. These awards could lead to national recognition.

*Acknowledgements*

None of these achievements would have been possible without the tireless efforts and unwavering support of our managers, coaches, and volunteers. To our managers, who plan meticulously and lead by example, your strategic insights and leadership have been invaluable. To our coaches, whose dedication to developing and nurturing talent is evident in every training session and match, your passion and expertise are the foundation of our success.

A special mention must go to our volunteers, whose behind-the-scenes work often goes unnoticed but is crucial to the smooth running of our club. From organising events and managing logistics to maintaining our facilities, your contributions are deeply appreciated and do not go unnoticed.

We must recognise the change of circumstances within the club, Adam Dawe setting up the club coaches’ seminars to give our coaches some different ideas & thoughts which enhances our coach’s personal development. Adam continues to progress his own personal coaching development which will impinge on his role as Club Treasurer and unfortunately will be stepping down from the role after a period of handover. Clare Dawe will need to step away from her role as youth registration officer due to a change in job role. Steve Kilkelly and his team are bowing out after the U16 season finishes, he epitomises the type of commitment required to move with a team as he’s brought them from Mini football through to completion at U16’s from boys to young men. He achieved our coach of the year award at the volunteers awards evening. We are losing a lot of girls from the U17’s team unfortunately, but the coaching team remains with the U8’s. Unfortunately, Cory Jones leaves us from the U11 Girls management team.

*Looking Ahead*

As we look forward to the next season, the pavilion will be built, a new whole club management tool which is ‘TeamFeePay’ will be in place, Nike are our new kit suppliers as a Nike Partner Club, supported by The FA, the club shop will be able to be used by all members. New teams will be playing or setting up at U7, U8 Girls, U11 & Ladies Walking Football.

Let us carry forward the spirit of teamwork and perseverance that has brought us so much success. With continued dedication and support, I am confident that we will reach even greater heights and create many more memorable moments.

In closing, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved with the Horrabridge Rangers Sports Association. Your commitment and passion make our club a thriving and successful community. Here's to another fantastic season ahead together as a forward-thinking club with enjoying our sport!
