In 2023, the Nelght()urhood Network (NN) contlnued to expand Its reach and support for
member groups across Hull, with seven new NelghtK)urhood Watch groups Joining frc
five of the citvs seven Ward AThs. The NN wovided these new groups with essenfjal
resour￿ such as street ￿gns, wlnd(Y•V Slickers, and hdp In establishing communlcatk)n
channels wlth thelr ccmnmunities. Additionally, new members were connected with local
coundllors, ndghbourhood offi￿15, and ￿licIng teanE, whlch are uuclal for thelr group's
developrrent.
Throughout the year, NN offered pe￿naliSed sur4)ort trJ1ts 496 registered groups,
addresslng over 60 specific requests. This SUPEX)rt ranged from resolving Cfxnmunlty
issues, such as clearing bonfire debrs, to offering adv1￿ on social media, event insuran￿,
and personnel n￿nagen￿nt NN also fadlitated conneLtions between groups and funding
oppothnities, assisted with DBS d￿(trs, and rKDvided guidan￿ on con4ttutSons arnl
polides. The NN team attended 23 in-person events (xganised by member groupsi
dlstrfbuted 170 window stickers. erected 14 street slgns, and created, PTirted and
ddlvered 1,460 a)￿Unty ne￿Slette￿ to en￿￿ robust tnember ￿gageMent.
Beyond Its member-foatsed actlth, NN extended tts Corr￿Unty sUPPOrt se￿￿￿ tD Hull
residents not direcuy involved with speafic NN projects. The chaiity handl&d 102 requests,
Includlng connetting re5iderts wlth swiport services, volunteer opportunltles, and local

NN also played a sSgnlftant role In the loL31 V(5 sector, notsbty through the Bransh01￿
Trux where they contlnued to S￿ as a fundlng pand ￿eMber, supwrtlng grassroots
gmups in the Bransholme area.
Humber Watch unites organlsatIons supportlng Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) groups
acro￿ Humberslde's four unr13ry authoritles. In 2023, the NN hosted fve nEetings,
adm5nlsterlng HWI and attending national NHW n￿ngs. This enabled unified
messaging, campaign updates, and for East Rhjing of yO￿h1￿ Council on NHW
code of ethics breaches.

In 2023, the NN expanded its reach by taking over the managemert of the Alf Marshall
Community Centre (AMCC) in Brdnsholme. After ￿Uring a lease and capilal fundlng from
the UK Pmspeiity Fund and West CaT Ward budg< the chaiity t*gan upgrades, Including
new heatlng, lightingi and Interlor renovthn51 preparfng the ￿ntre for reopening.
The Alf Marshall Communty Centre officially reorthed to the comMun￿Y on 8th May,
coinciding with the King's Coron&ion, with a family fvn day attended by over 500 people.
Supported by the UKSPF fund, the event raised £446 and marked the start of a vibrant
calendar of acbvities. By December 2023, the ￿ntre host£d 299 sessions, drawing nearfy
4,000 attendees.

with the Unlverslty of Hull, Menopaus'ull began developlng a play that captures and shares
women's menopause experlences, almlng to a broader aUdIen￿ I￿lIlY and
natlonally.

equipment shop, offering affordalje pyodutts whlle generaing a reliable Income stream for
the charfty. During 2023, there was a sllght dedine in sales, wlth 399 Items sold compared
to 411 items in 2022. This dlpls fftntialty due to other workloads tsking ￿l017ty, dlvertlng
attention away from sale t¥￿T￿lOnS. Howevw, the team remaln proactlve, ￿dIrecting
focus towards other inltiatives suth as the sale of bike locks within the 'Lock It or Lose ly
project.

The team contlnued to produ￿ their regular newsletters. The NN newkn, dlstrlbuted
forlnightly, reaches 829 sUbsaib￿5, while the MSN newsletter, sent out monthty, reaches
291 subscribets.
Currentty, the charrty communicates through a diverse aw of thannels, including 9
Facebook pages, 7 Fa￿bOok groups. 2 Twiitex accounts equating to 2322 followers, 2

also maintains a Google Business page, ensuring further reach through Google searches.
Financial regulations
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set
out on page 9 and 10 and comply with the constitution and applicable accounting standards.
Financial results
Total Income was £233,619. Totsl expenditure was £167,692. The surplus for the period
was £65,927.
Policy on reserves
The charity holds 3 months, worth of unrestricted funds in reserve, this is to ensure the
continued operations of the charity should income streams change dramatically.
FUTURE PLANS
Hopes for 2024 and beyond include making headway into furthering the long-term
sustainability of the NN, along with its key projetts that are really making a difference.
The plans are to keep reaching into the communities of Hull and even further into the
surrounding counties, supporting residents to support themselves in building safer and
healthier communities.
Key plans for 2024 include:
To deliver a 2024 HWA association event for grassroot community groups within
the Humberside force area
To explore the growth of 'Menopaus'ull - considering it as its own entity as it
develops from the Ideas Fund
To collaboratively work with other VCS organi5ations in supporting the residents of
Hull and beyond
•5 To obtain Community Safety funding to further support communities at grassroot
level effected by crime.
To develop the income for the Alf Marshall community Centre so it relies less on
funding.
