## **Fighting social exclusion together**

he VINCI UK Foundation **T** funded by eight UK Subsidiaries and set up in 2016 has been a huge success. Our main aim, to fight social exclusion, is at the heart of the Foundation and we do this by creating lasting relationships between charities and employees (VINCI sponsors) who donate time and professional skills. With a total of 169 projects supported so far; 39 in 2021, VINCI has taken this opportunity to give back to the communities where we live and work, targeting areas such as ‘Promoting access to employment’, ‘Integration through housing’, ‘Inclusive mobility’

and ‘Building better communities in underprivileged neighbourhoods’, VINCI has the opportunity to have a really positive influence on local communities. It has been a privilege to see the tangible benefit that the Foundation provides to so many deserving organisations and the enjoyment on the faces of our own employees noticeably proud of the benefits that they have been able to bring to the different organisations.

We are looking forward to further developing the work of the Foundation in 2022 and our thanks goes to all those who supported us in 2021 and have made the work of the VINCI Foundation so successful.

## **Our**

**Successful Projects** _Local engagement – Sponsorship – Responsibility_

## **Taking action against all forms of social exclusion**

The Foundation supports projects that provide lasting solutions to social or employment integration difficulties experienced by some of the underprivileged in the community.

**Encouraging initiatives**

The Foundation encourages initiatives located as close as possible to the regions where VINCI is present. In order to adapt to local circumstances and encourage the social commitment of Group employees, the Foundation has created a European network. Today, there are 14 Foundations making a lasting commitment to fighting exclusion.

## **Support dual aid for project**

## **sponsors**

The Foundation systematically provides support in two forms to the projects in which it participates: financial aid for investments and the skills of one or more Group employees.

## **Evaluating our impact**

All the projects that receive the Foundation’s support are monitored and assessed. The project managers and their VINCI sponsors conduct an annual review of their actions together. The Foundation sets objectives for each project to enable the measurement of its impact, especially in deprived neighbourhoods.

Responsibilities of trustees
As exptained more fully in the InJslees' responsibilities ststement set out on page 4, the Iruslees {who are also the
directors of the charitable company for the purposes of ¢ompany law} are responsible for the preparation of the
finanaal $18lements and for being satisfied that they give a true and fair view. and for such intemal control as the

accountlng unless the trustees either intend to liquidate the charity or lo cease operations, or have no realistic
altemalive bul to do $0.
Auditows responsibilities for the audit of the finafteial statements
We have been appointed as auditor under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 and rewrt in accordan￿ with
regulations made under section 154 of that Ad.
Our objectives are lo obtsin reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from

Reasonable assurance is a high level of assurance bul is not a guarantee that an audit ¢onducted in accordance

error and are considered material if, individually or in the aggregate, they could reasonably be expected to influence
the economic de￿$lOn9 of users taken on the basis of these finanaal statements.
Identifylng and responding to risks of material misstatement due to fraud
The level of risk and ability to detect l￿egularl11eS due to fraud was considered during the planning stsge of the

enquiries with management.
We communicated identified fraud risks throughout the audit learn and remained alert to any indications of fraud

Walklhrough and further substantive lesling on sales and purchases to identify weaknesses and override
of internal controls.
Using analytical procedures lo identify any unusu21 or unexpected vaHan￿.
Identifying and responding to risks of material misstatement due to nonrycompllance with laws and
regulations
The level of risk and 8bilrty to dete¢t irregularities due to non-compliance with laws and regulations was considered
during the planning stage of the audit. A risk assessment was undertaken, tsking into consideration the company's
policies. procedures and compliance with laws an¢J regulations
We communicated identified laws and regulations throughout ourleam and remained alert to any indi¢ations of non-
compliance throughout Ihe aLJdit.
The company is subject to laws and regulations that directly affect the financial statèments including financial
reporting and tsxation legislation. Wa assessed the extent of compliance with these laws and regulations as part of
our procedures on the related financial statement items.
The company is also subject lo many other laws and regulations where the consequences of non-compliance could
have a material effect on amounts or disclosures in the financial slalements. Auditing stsndards limit the required
audit procedures lo identify non-compliance with these laws and regulations lo enquiry of the directors and
inspe¢tion of regulatory and legal Ca￿espondence, if any. Therefore. rf a breach of operational regulations is not
disclosed to us or evident from relevant correspondence. an audit will not delecl that breach.
Context of the abillty of the audit to detèct fraud or breaches of law or regulation
Owng to the inherent limitations of an audff£, there is an unavoidable risk that we may not have detected some
material misstatements in the financial statements, even though we have properly planned and perfomied our audit
in accordance wf(h auditing stsndards. For example, there is a higher risk of non-deleclion of fraud, as these may
involve collusion, forgery, intentional omissions, misrepresentations or the override of internal controls. Our audit
procedures are designed to delect material misstslemenl. We are not responsible for preventing non-complian
or fraud and cannot be expected to detect non-compliance with all laws and regulallons.
A further description of our responsibiltties for the audit of the financial statements is located on the Finan¢ial
Reporting Council's website at ww.frc.org.uklauditorsresponsibililies. This description forms part of our Report of

Use of our report

Responsibilities of trustees
As exptained more fully in the InJslees' responsibilities ststement set out on page 4, the Iruslees {who are also the
directors of the charitable company for the purposes of ¢ompany law} are responsible for the preparation of the
finanaal $18lements and for being satisfied that they give a true and fair view. and for such intemal control as the
trustees determine is necessary to enable the preparats'on of financial $18lements that are free from material
misststemenl, whether due to fraud or error.
In preparing the financial statements, the trustees are ￿spOnsible for assessing the charity's ability to continue as
a going concem, disclosing, as applicable, matters related to going con￿rn and using the going concem basis of
accountlng unless the trustees either intend to liquidate the charity or lo cease operations, or have no realistic
altemalive bul to do $0.

We communicated identified fraud risks throughout the audit learn and remained alert to any indications of fraud

of internal controls.
