The Squeaks Foundation
Annual Report 2020
Message from the Board of Trustees
London, December 2020
Dear all,
2020 was an incredibly challenging year for everyone due to Covid-19. With travel disruption, we were not able to onboard any students for our scholarship program. Our partner university – Khyber Girls Medical College, in Peshawar - closed for extended periods. We experienced significant delays to the length of processing payments as the university staff was not available to provide us with the necessary information.
Simultaneously, we also halted our fundraising efforts. However, we continue funding our existing scholarship commitments, and are currently giving out 36 scholarships at KGMC. The funding required per student went down due to the devaluation of the Pakistani rupee.
100% of the donations previously collected went to fund (i) bank transaction fees and (ii) scholarships . We continue to operate without any other costs as was our commitment from the onset.
Lastly, while our cash position was depleted, we are confident that this will be rectified throughout 2021 as we ramp up fundraising efforts again.
Please see below our accounts.
Best wishes,
Ana Castro Henckel
