Objertives and Activities of the charity The charity's objectives are: the prevention and relief of poverty in The Gambia by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, health care projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self sufficient.

Annual activities July 2023- June 2024 Health and wellbein 1 . Provided funds for emergency health care with our partners from Africmed international hospital. Funded several lrfesaving operations including amputation and aftercare, acute treatments, complications in pregnancy management and sickle cell patient support. 2. Provided refurbishment of facilities at Kajabang health post, a communty health facility serving a population of approx. 2500 people. The renovation included fixing roof, full electrical installation, interior maintenance and painting. 3. Buift a fully functional heatth and wellbeing centre equipped with equipment to support activities for physical and mental wellbeing such as weights, television, treadmill, cross trainer. 4. Enabled 87 people to access eye care at the Sheikh Zayed eye specialist care ￿ntre. Various treatments received including cataract operations, infection support, prescription glasses dispenses and glaucoma diagnoses. Those with diagnoses are receiving monthly support with prescription eye drops. 5. Gunjur Youths For Health was created as a resuft of medical staff sponsored through our charity giving their communty action. In partnership we have organised health screening days to check people for hypertension and diabetss. Those found at risk or needing treatment supported with a package of care. 6. Facilitated workshops for Gunjur Youths For Health to take information sharing workshop into senior schools about breast cancer and menstruation. Trainin and education 1. Held our 14th annual 4 week summer offering classes to over 400 students from nursery to senior - the program provides extra lessons, food security and general extra support during the summer school closures . 2. Working with Partnerships in The Gambia, a UK registered charity 1089167 to facilitate capacity building workshops around education. health and sustainable livelihoods. 3. Wth partners at Rage fftness and wellbeing group trained a Gambian in a gym leadership internationally recognised qualification to deliver workshops from the wellbeing ￿nter. 4. Provided educational excursions to 97 students across 3 schools so students in the Gambia can understand more about their county. 5. Provided Gunjur Girl Guides with funds to operate a weekend program to support world thinking day 6. Since 2012 we continue working with the African Oyster trust UK registered charity 118298 to provide managerial support to Mariama May nursery school in Gunjur 7. Since 2019 working with BEREEL (Building Empowerment: Rural Economic Engagement in Life) a UK based charity 1178589 working in the Gambia. We continue to support with facilitating business management training and support for those who do not have aC￿sS to appropriate training due to levels of poverty or lack of schooling with a view to helping them develop economically viable micro businesses. 8. Regular women's empowemient activities around food safety, literacy, catering and sewing provided to strengthen women's roles as leaders, entrepreneurs, consumers, and economic stakeholders. 9. Facilitated a workshop with Building Capacty & Bridges a registered organisation that works in close collaboration with Govemment & key stakeholders in The Gambia to address irregular migration & youth unemployment by creating opportunities. 10. Communi action 1 . Provided a 2001itre tank and bore hole with pump to a family in need and fftted sanitation facilities including toilets, shower room, tsps and waste water management system. 2. Built an outdoor smokeless oven to promote new ways of cooking without charcoal and harmful smoke 3. Renovated a famity compound including living area. bedrooms and outdoor kitchen. Provided furniture and food hamper. 4. Total roof renovation for a family home that had bumt down. Provided the family with a strong home and strong roof. 5. Provided regular food hampers to 17 families 6. Provided seeds. tools and equipment for the women's kaffo working in the women's gardens providing better opportunities for growing cash crops. School intervention 1. Total roof renovation, ceiling and electrical installation to Shiek Hatab nursery school for 150 students. This intervention prevented the school from collapse. Providing monthly support for human resources at the school to support children's wellbeing. Painted and refreshed several dassrooms with art works and educational information. Painted and renovated the playground 2. Supported the replacement of septic tank at nursery school preventing the potential hazardous waste impacting on the school and children's health 3. Plastered and tiled three classrooms at Kajabang nursery. Painted all interior and exterior walls with bright educational designs. Provided 24 sets of chairs and tables for the classrooms. Provided a monthly donation for human resources at the school to ensure additional support for children's wellbeing. Environment 1 .
