YOUTH ON THE MOVE (LONDON) ANNUAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTS 2024

1

INTRODUCTION

Step into the world of Youth on the Move (London) – where adversity meets action, and young lives are transformed through opportunity. Based in the heart of London’s most deprived boroughs, we are more than a youth charity – we are a catalyst for change.

We don’t just offer activities; we offer young people aged 11–16 a lifeline – a chance to grow, thrive, and break free from the limitations of poverty, disadvantaged and isolation. From whispered beginnings to confident voices, we’ve witnessed remarkable journeys of strength, resilience, and selfbelief.

With each step, they move towards a brighter future – and we walk beside them all the way.

FINANCIAL REVIEW

Amidst the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, economic instability, and the lingering effects of the COVID19 pandemic, Youth on the Move (London) has not only endured – we’ve grown stronger. Through community-driven action, prudent budgeting, and an unshakable commitment to our mission, we’ve emerged more resilient than ever.

Increased volunteer support and generous in-kind donations have played a crucial role in lowering operational costs. Our careful management enabled us to build a reserve fund , strengthening our foundation and securing the future of our programmes. This financial security now empowers us to plan boldly , grow responsibly , and deliver deeper, wider impact in the years ahead.

THE NEED FOR OUR SERVICES

more than 1 in 4 children . Poverty in Hackney affects Many of the young people we support live in overcrowded housing, with limited access to healthy food, private space, or safe places to play. Anxiety, inactivity, and hopelessness are becoming the norm.

These children are not lazy or lost – they are undervalued and unheard. They are bright, creative, and full of potential. They just need someone to say, “We believe in you.” We are that voice. Our projects open doors to confidence, connection, and a sense of purpose.
