It has been my great pleasure to be once more a part of this GS€ Castle\Gresley\ Gresleon™We 34,2 & 2 IN patie RO g annual event that brings in people from all over the country, Ea N& Albert Village S and engages with a lot of local residents, many bringing along their vehicles, and some showing off their many talents- from our great local vocalists, dancers, and also crafter’s, cake makers.
It is an opportunity for local businesses those based within the town and those in the wider area to enable locals and not so local’s to find out about their businesses.
Luckily we was blessed with the weather, every year we worry about this because all the planning if the weather is against us it ‘puts a dampener’ on the day. Each year we choose a theme, and we changed the date to fall in with the bank holiday. This year we all celebrated VE Day.
This event is supported by South Derbyshire District Council, the physical and financial support allows this event to take place.
Swadlincote Festival of Transport, is a CIO that likes to work with and support local groups and individuals, some of these donations are not made public knowledge, however any local group, or small charity can make application for a donation.
