Therefore the income and expenditure of the Filey church are accounted here only up to 28 February 2021. Assets belonging to the Filey church are transferred to the new charity on 28 February 2021.
Reserves Policy
The trustees were able to retain three to six months’ core running costs in the unrestricted general fund to ensure a sufficient buffer to enable effective financial decision-making, rather than short term decisions, and the charity will work towards maintaining this reserve in the future by careful ongoing monitoring of income and expenditure.

The charity aims to rebuild the church membership at Withernsea following its collapse during the Coronavirus Pandemic. The Withernsea church has started a gospel band and choir and intends to perform publicly at local events, pubs and clubs. This will hopefully attract new members. The church also intends to start a new project aimed at inspiring and supporting local youth.
The charity intends to continue to work with Kingstrust Network CIO (number 1161181) in running the Gateway Community Care Hub in Withernsea. This collaboration will bring new opportunities to meet and serve new people in the coming year.
Achievements and Performance
Review of Activities in 2021
Following the easing of Coronavirus restrictions the charity was able to re-establish face-to-face services in both Withernsea and Filey. Our bible study and prayer meetings remained online via Zoom for convenience.
The Filey church left the charity on 28 February 2021 being incorporated as its own charity (number 1193391).
The services that the church provided in the first half of 2021 were severely disrupted by the Coronavirus pandemic. Like many churches we lost a significant number of members. Our aim in 2021 therefore became one of simple survival. This we achieved, the church and charity are still operating.
The charity continued to work with Kingstrust Network CIO (number 1161181) in running the Gateway Community Care Hub in Withernsea greatly benefiting the people of the Withernsea area. The hub continued to support those isolating during the lockdowns and then transitioned back to meeting clients face-to-face it our premises at 104 Queen Street.

Statement of Trustee’s responsibilities

In preparing those financial statements, the Trustees are required to:
-
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
-
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Charity will continue to operate.
