## **Achievements and Performance**

||SORP reference||
|---|---|---|
|Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.|Para 1.20|Our mission is to bring hope to our
communities through music, creativity and
community engagement.
Throughout the year, our activities have
continued to strengthen social connections,
promote cultural inclusion, and improve the
wellbeing and confidence of participants
from diverse backgrounds across Cardiff
and surrounding areas.
During the reporting period, we delivered
approximately 40 music workshop
sessions, including choir rehearsals, vocal
training, Welsh choral singing sessions,
and songwriting workshops. These
sessions provided participants with
opportunities to develop new creative skills,
build confidence, express themselves
artistically, and improve their sense of
belonging and wellbeing. The workshops
also encouraged collaboration and
strengthened relationships among
individuals from different communities and
cultural backgrounds.
We organised and participated in a range
of concerts, gospel music events, and
public worship gatherings across Cardiff
and neighbouring areas. These events
enabled us to engage with wider
audiences, expand community networks,
and build new partnerships and
relationships. They also created
opportunities to raise awareness of our
charitable activities, celebrate cultural
diversity, andfostergreatercommunity|

cohesion through shared musical experiences. In addition, we hosted a number of social gatherings, including picnics, day trips, and shared meals for participants and volunteers. These activities played an important role in reducing social isolation, strengthening friendships, encouraging peer support, and promoting collaboration and creative exchange. The gatherings also contributed to the continued growth and development of the organisation by creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all involved. During the year, we successfully completed the first year and commenced the second year of our Welsh singing project, “Swn Llwythol Connect”, funded by The National Lottery. Swn Llwythol Connect is a social initiative designed to promote the Welsh language and culture among African and ethnically diverse communities in and around Cardiff through music and collective participation. The project has helped participants build greater confidence in engaging with Welsh culture and language while fostering intercultural understanding, inclusion, and community integration. By using music as a bridge between communities, the project has contributed to wider social cohesion and encouraged stronger connections between people of different cultural backgrounds across Wales.

## **Responsibilities as the Charity Trustees of the Trust**

You are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

## **Basis of Independent Examiner’s report**

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act. In carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent Examiner’s Statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1. Accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or

2. The accounts do not accord with those records; or

3. The accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
