Church Crookham and Fleet Men's Shed operates from its own purpose built shed at Gurkha Path, Naishes Lane, Church Crookham G U52 8DT. The trustees of Church Crookham and Fleet Men's Shed presenttheirannual report and accounts for the year ending March 2021. The trustees are- Allan Walker (Chairmanl Malcolm Thompson ITreasurerl Bob Stokes Robert Norris Church Crookham and Fleet Men's Shed is governed by tts constttution dated 24th january 2017,. trustees are elected by members of Church Crookham and Fleet Men's Shed in accordance with the constr(ution. Our objects as specif led are- "The promotion of social inclusion forthe public benefit of men and women living in Church Crookham/Fleet and the surrounding area to combat loneliness and social isolation arising as result of their age, inf irmity, disability, f inancial hardship or Social circumstance. To do this we will provide workshop facilities where they can meet to socialise and engage in activities together, such facilities being aimed at increasing their engagement, skills and condition of life., The trustees believe we have complied with our objects as stated in our constttution and will continue to do so for the benef tt of our members and the public. At the end of March 2024, the total value of the current account was £3724.84, and the savings account bank deposits was £33CE8.91. At all times Church Crookham and Fleet Men's aim to have reseNes of a minimum of £5,c￿ which equates to a yearfs annual operational costs. Membership At the end ofthe reportingyear, we had 54 members. Covid-19 Impacted activf(ies and these thankfully are behind us. We have as a resutt had to operate a waiting list for memberships, something that the trustees do not want to do, but space is limited and as we have a duty of care to every memberthis was deemed necessary. The trustees negotiated the use of another building in the hope of being able to spread membership over two sites and whilst partially successf ul it was not as successful as we would have hoped. To that end it was decided to create another Men's Shed in the local area and Hartland Mens Shed Fleet (CIO 12071591 has been created. The two Mens Sheds are working closely together to ensure that Hartland Mens Shed is successf ul. Activities and Achievements In the year reported, our activities and achievements included.. Carried out workshops with local youth groups ICubs/Brownies/Guidesl making 264 bird boxes. Hosted 16 Experience Days in conjunction with the Southern Fellowship of Woodworkers to help enhance 'shedders" skill levels.

Built 3 4.6mtr across ortagonal outdoor working area for a school. Mad an outdoor sandpit with foldable cover for a local school. Made a memorial book display case. Visited RAF Odiham for a tour of Chinooks. Each of these activities relates to our objectives and contributes to the wider community in which we live. The atmosphere at the Shed is generally good and helpf ul. New members are welcomed, and there is usually someone to give a helping hand about anything - ranging from advice and guidance to solving technical problems. In addition to members using their skills to help each other, specif ic help is given to members with some disabilr(ies to e nable them to make and mend things. We continued to work with new or forming, Sheds to give help and advite on how to get started. The future Church Crookham and Fleet Men's Shed is continuing to grow at a steady rate. The creation of Hartland Mensshed has reduced the burden on the waiting list, and we will now start to invite additional members to join. The Shed is a valuable community charity, and the trustees are determined toget back in business soon as possible, delivering our main aim of reducing social isolation and loneliness. We provide a valuable service to our members; itls clear there is a need for us (many of our members report that the Shed has given them back the banter and camaraderie that they lost when retiring f rom workl.
