Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 By the end of 2025 14 groups were open
throughout the UK. A new one is in the
process of being set up in Oxshott,
subject to finding leader. The demand
is there as those attending the groups
are very enthusiastic about the benefits
they had gained.
A number of newsletters and magazines
were produced throughout the year.
These were circulated, by email and, in
hard copy (as appropriate), to
volunteers, members of groups and
other people connected with Conquest
Art (“CA”).
During the year the Charity Manager
organised a number of very successful
Zoom meetings where group leaders
could discuss various issues with her
and with each other. Each group was
visited at least once in the year.
The Trustees continued to have regular
meetings bi-monthly meetings. Some
were on Zoom to but since September,
they have met in person which it was
agreed was a much better way of
discussing issues related to the running
of the charity.

Achievements against
objectives set
Para 1.41 In a period of sharply increased costs,
especially in rents, the objective of
maintaining support of 14 Groups within
the charity’s limited means was
achieved. The deficit was higher than
budgeted (£12.9k as compared with £8k)
but this was covered by reserves which
contain legacies specifically for this
purpose.
Performance of fundraising
activities against objectives
set
Para 1.41 Fundraising was below the budgeted
target of £20k by £3k (15%) due to the
caution many Trusts and Foundations
are taking and as a result being more
restrictive in the charities being
supported.
However, £4.5k was received through
donations.
Investment performance
against objectives
Para 1.41 Investments in M&G Charifund and with
Hampshire Trust Bank delivered an
income yield of almost 9% with
flexibility of access to funds if
necessary.
Other None
