It was attended<br>by an average of 15 regular people,<br>most of whom are retired. The<br>participants benefitted from the social<br>contact and the opportunity to learn<br>natural wood working skills. The<br>Bodgers is part of the Kent Sheds, a<br>network of collaboration and support<br>for Sheds projects across Kent.<br>A spoon carving group has also been<br>meeting weekly, attended by an<br>average of 5 people.<br>We worked in partnership with 3 local<br>organisations during the year:<br>We offered the use of the garden<br>space as a satellite site for Café<br>Revival (East Kent Mind) for their<br>mental health and wellbeing peer<br>support group gatherings (MenTalk,<br>Women’s Wellness). We received very<br>positive feedback from the<br>participants as the garden provided a<br>safe and welcoming space for the<br>group to meet in a confidential and<br>beautiful setting.<br>We co-produced a series of ‘Zest in<br>the Garden’ sessions run by<br>Brightshadow, the dementia support<br>charity. Zest creative sessions for<br>people living with dementia are<br>mood-boosting, invigorating events<br>**----- End of picture text -----**<br>

which are shown to enhance quality<br>of life. These high-quality<br>participatory activities, led by<br>professional artists, brought life,<br>energy and fun to individuals in the<br>garden setting and proved to be a<br>safe, affirming and exciting way in<br>which to celebrate dementia culture.<br>We worked with St Nicholas School in<br>Canterbury to organise and run<br>weekly gardening work experience<br>sessions for a select group of young<br>people with special educational needs and<br>disabilities (SEND).<br>We were able to run all the above<br>activities with confidence owing to a<br>significant increase in the number of<br>core volunteers who signed up to<br>support Stream Walk post lockdown.<br>Volunteers have reported feeling<br>more a part of the community and<br>pleased to be learning new skills,<br>particularly in relation to food growing<br>and harvesting, wildlife gardening,<br>pruning and supporting groups<br>including activities for children.<br>**----- End of picture text -----**<br>

## **Financial Review**
