St Cris in's Church CIO For the Year Ended 310ecember 2024 Pa e2A Re ort of the Trustees The Trustees have pleasure in presenting their annual report and accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024. Objectivés and activities The Church's primary purpose is to advance the Christian religion in accordance with the tenets and praCtIS of the Church of England. In addition to this, the Church also seeks to promote education and relieve poverty and hardship. Structure, governance and management St Crispin's Church is a CIO governed by its Constitution registered with the Charity Commission commencing on the 6 February 2017. The trustees who served during the year were.. New trustees are appointed by the existing trustees and are provided with appropriate trainlng to undertake the role they wlll occupy withln the Church. R•view of Actlvltl•s In 2024 St. Crispin's had continued with its mission of sharing the gospel and discipling the Church family into the ways of Jesus. With a focus on making connections with people who are new to Church or the Christian Faith. This had been achieved through the regular delivery of worship and prayer services, bible studies, community and outreach events. Overall it has been a very encouraging year for the lrfe of the Church, with a change of leadership and attendance becoming more consistent especially on Thursday evenings including some attending from outside the St.Crispin's family to benefit from its prayer services, bible studies and the Churches focus on discipleship. As a result more people had taken on responsibility to volunteer or contribute their resources and time to serve the Church and its family. Change in Leadership: As of 5 September 2025, Andrew Bignold was commissioned and appointed as the new minister in charge of St.Crispin'5 Church as a volunteer. The previous minister Jonathan Blackham had left to continue his studies in Oxford. Alongside this, new trustees was also appointed i.e Catherine Clark, Jonathan Winn and Helen Hughes (resigned) in the following months. The previous trustee group were beginning to also step down to allow a new leadership group to form.
St Cris in's Church CIO For the Year Ended 31 December 2024 Pa e2B Re ort of the Trustees continued Community Outreach and Events: Duringthis yearthe Church had ran two Live Jazz events that had attracted up to 50 people in each from all over London includingthose based locally. Duringxmas, the church also ran a Jazz themed Carols eventwith up to 25 people attending, including a Christingie servicethe week after. Other events included, the AIL HaLlows Eve outreach which engaged with over 250 local chlldren with adults contlnuingthe tradition from previous years giving out sweets, welcomes and leaflets. A regular coffee and art morning continued this yearthat aimed to make connections and open the space forthe local community offering a creche space and f riendly facilitles for people with disabilities. This resulted i n regular attendees on a weekly basis for coffee, chat and frlendship. Flnallytwo new events were run. One was called'what's the story,, a guest speaker was Invited to telltheirs in an evenlng that encouraged the listenlng and sharlng of each other. life 'story'. AArt Exhlbition took place In November where the church buildlngwas used as a gallery to displaythe art created and owned by St.Crispin's fflembers. This event ran for 2 evenings and a Saturday, overthe total of the 3 days upto 70 new local people had attended and enjoyed the exhlbition. Public benafit The trustees have paid due regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the Church should undertake. Flnancial rovlew These financial statements have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. There was a net cash surplus on funds for the year of £9,455 (2023: £4,054) leaving a balance on cash funds of £38,126 at 31 December 2024 (2023.. cash funds of £28,671). Rl8k Management The trustees contlnually conslder the major rlsks to whlch the Church is exposed. and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitlgate exposure to these risks. Rosponslblllties and basls of report As the charity trustees of the CIO you are responsible for the preparatlon of the accounts in accordance wlth the requirement5 of the Charities AGt 2011 ('the Act,). I report in respect of my examination of the CIO'S accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act. Independent exam1n•8 8tatement I have completed my examinatlon. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: (1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the CIO as required by section 130 of the Act; or (2) the accounts do not accord with those records. Funds Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of their Restricted funds are subject to specific conditions by donors as to how they may be used. Truste No trustee received any remuneration during the year. Debtor8 The charity has now caught up with Gift Aid claims, recelving £21,382 In the year, Related Part Transactions There were no related party transaction in the year. Lease and Financlal Commitments The Trust has entered a lease agreement to rent the church property (16a Highbury Place. London, N5 1 QP) at a rental of £14,400 per annum untll the end of 2025.
