We have 5 trustees with WRCW. 2 of the trustees are appointed as Secretary and Treasurer.
Cats Protection have continued assisted us with funding the neutering of feral cats and kittens. We also have a good working relationships with Spaywatch charity in Peterborough who fund the shortfall in our neutering requirement. They have also assisted us with costs for combination flea and worm treatment which has also resulted in a reduced spend on essential parasite treatments.
Working relationships with Wood Green Animal Shelters and Cat Welfare Wisbech have resulted in the trapping, intake and rehoming of a large number of cats and kittens. It is essential to the continued future that this continues as without their support we would be unable to rescue or take in as many felines as we do, this due to lack of accommodation pen space and costs associated with the prolonged holding of cats.

Section D Achievements and erformance p
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The year has been spent with us continuing to neuter feral and stray cats and kittens that have been reported to us. Demand from the public is always greater than we are able to provide assistance for, mainly due to lack of volunteer manpower and/or available resources however we continue to offer support and guidance to the general public and loan equipment and provide neutering funding to people willing to trap felines.
We presently have pen accommodation for 12 contained cats so the priority is to TNR (Trap, Neuter and Return) feral adults and socialise feral kittens as quickly as possible so they can be released from valuable and limited secure pen space. WRCW hold an average number of 6 additional socialised cats awaiting rehoming.
During the course of the year 38 cats and kittens have been recovered, 18 being TNR’d, 5 being neutered and rehomed, and 15 being transferred to other cat charities for rehoming.
Public support continues and donations from the public have totalled £1,461 for the reporting period.
Cat welfare and treatment is good, but is continually reviewed and improved upon and procedures are gradually being introduced so that future volunteers will adopt the same operating standards.
The good relationship we have established Whittlesey Veterinary Centre in Peterborough continues, who provide discounted consultations, procedures and prescriptions for treatments. Whilst our main veterinary provider we do on occasions have to use other practices more local to us.
Working relationships with Wood Green Animal Shelters and Cat Welfare Wisbech have resulted in the trapping, intake and rehoming of a large number of cats and kittens. It is essential to our future that this continues, as without their support we would be unable to rescue or take in as many felines as we do, this due to lack of accommodation pen space costs associated with the prolonged holding of cats and homes for the felines.
