We were abo very sorry to hear of the death of our previous chair Colin Jeynes in
November 2023. Although Colin Was no longer a trustee. ￿ continued to SeTr￿ as

In our annual plan we detemiined to adopt 8t least one of the clocks in the
Mansion House, and have rt ser4iced so that visitors ￿Uld b8 ¥￿ICOrned with a

us in the direction of the Briiish Horologi￿1 Institute where we found Ross
Alcock MBHI. Following an exploratory visit. he gave us a quotstion and th8
trustees decided to have two tavem dcrks and one longcase dock servI￿d. A
small adjustment is still needed on one to cope with the changing temperature,
it is very ￿e1ComIng to hear the dock thiming. We appreaate the hdp of
Herttage ser41￿8 in process and for 8greeing to resume weekly dock
winding.
The Mansion House has t￿￿1 dcth by Benjamin Huntsman, the Epworth born

We are delighted that the regular monthly Open Days nave taken place. and our

krK)wledge of the wond&rful building. A total of 1375 people ifjsited the Mansion
House, many telling us that they INed in Doncaster all their lives but had not yet
been inside. The numbers indude the 508 WIK) came through the doors on
Steampunk Day. and whilst for some the main attractions offered were the popup

Mansion House to a whole new group of people.

we were very pleased to recruit a further 8. Nearty all have now completed the
Safeguarding training prov1d￿j by Doncaster Ciwncil. We have held two valuable
volunteers, meets'ngs where new i￿$ and suggestions for improvement are aired.
Prior to lod(down. the Friend8 had rel￿Ved a grant from the John and Ruth Howard

considerable ￿￿rk had been (*rried out by (Mn Evans. our former Secretary, to pull
t0gettr￿r expert COntrib￿orS to produce a digital version which was posted on the
Friends, website. This year the trustees decided to use the funds to have the
guidebook printed, but even in 3 years there were amendrnents to be made to
indude new events induding the visit of the KiTrJ and Queen, and corrections due to
new ￿Search. All the contn'butors were therefore asked again to review a revised
version, and the new guidebooks knpre printed in September. Complimentary copies
