Notes To the Accounts   March 2024<br>1 Membership Fees for both 22/23and 23/24 where £15 for the year from 31st August<br>Since July 2023we have received £7,885 of subs. Around 5/12 of these relate to the next financial year<br>This is calculated as £3,285. Fees for 2023/24 were first collected in July2023.<br>2 Membership Fees payable to our Parent U3a Trust are paid on an annual basis.<br>£1,972 for 2023/24  was paid in April 2023 for the year form 1st April 2023.<br>4 Accounts are prepared on a Receipts and Payments basis<br>5 General Meetings were held through the full year 23/24 at no charge<br>6 The direct mail costs is the costs of the Third Age Trust Magazine.<br>8 Social Trips which are available to all members are accounted for in the general fund.  The social expenditure also includes cost relating to convenors meetings<br>In 2022/23 social trips were treated as being part of the interest groups.<br>Last year social trips income was £9,578 expenditure was £10,078 and the social balance included in the interest group balances was £1,168<br>The balance of £1,168 has been transferred to the general fund as it belongs to the full membership<br>9 Interest Group balances represent amounts held on behalf of the Interest Groups.<br>Each Interest Group is self funded but grants from the general fund can be made in special circumstances<br>10 Admin costs include £493 for the Beacon IT system and £184 of general admin costs<br>The General Admin costs mainly relate to the cost of producing and distributing Newsletters for those without e mails<br>11 As at 31st Mar 2024 the major interest group balances were  table tennis £500 and bridge club £641<br>£1,166 of interest group hall rental in 2023/24 was paid in April 2024<br>12 As at 31st March 2024 there were £1,323 of costs relating to 2023/24 still outstanding.<br>£90 was a social trips refund with the remaining £1,233 being hall rental of which £1,166 related to interest groups<br>13 Sundry income is £20 for use of table tennis tables and £50.90 contra with interest groups as non active group balances were cleared plus a £1 donation.<br>14 £150 deposit for the convenors meeting to be held in May 2024 was paid in 2023/24<br>15 Sundry expenditure was made up as follows: £<br>Batteries 33<br>PAT Testing 62<br>Flowers for exiting committee members 50<br>Deposit for future convenors meeting 150<br>294<br>16 Social Events expenditure includes £706 cost for a thank you lunch for convenors<br>Page3<br>**----- End of picture text -----**<br>
