Westhead Village Hall - Trustees” Annual Report and Accounts September 2025
The hall continues to function effectively in providing an affordable venue for a range of interest groups and private bookings. Bookings are taken from the immediate locality but also from further afield. Detailed reports of village hall activities will be presented at the AGM by committee members who hold specific responsibilities.

The treasurer reports that the hall has operated on a profit of £4,733.63 over the period October 2024 to September 2025.
The major expense has been energy bills which have accounted for almost 29% of our total expenses.The next major expense has been weekly cleaning, accounting for 20% of the total expenditure. Our energy contract with TotalEnergies comes to a close in February 2025 and this will give us the opportunity to switch to a more reasonably priced supplier.
Our largest amount of income from a single hirer (Learning Stars) is £3,745.00. The two days a week that they use our facilities is crucial to a healthy and stable financial existence for the village hall. Other major sources of income come from private hire (£1,635), the Karate Classes (£1,410) and Sew Solid Crew (£1,280). We also benefited from healthy income from The Lotus of Peace group (£1,070). Unfortunately this group has now folded and this income will not contribute to our finances for the period October 2025 - September 2026.
Following the extensive maintenance work undertaken last year the hall is in an excellent state of repair, though we will continue to seek improvements as required.

Total Expenditure - £9,495.07 (Down from £13,719.19 in the previous year, though this did include significant maintenance costs). Income over expenditure - £4,733.63 in credit
