Sheikh Nazim Helping Hands

Objectives and Activities - Our vision, Mission and Values

Financial Period: 01/04/2023 - 31/03/2024

The Sheikh Nazim Helping Hands Charity (SNHH) is an established charity which has been serving the people for the last 10 years in and around the Manchester area for public benefit and the relief of poverty.

The aims and objectives of the charity are to help people from all backgrounds with the necessary essentials to live in these challenging times.

Muslims are always encouraged throughout their lives to help people in our society in any way they can as detailed in our traditions and holy book, this is in order for people to better serve themselves in this life and benefit them in the next.

Our aim is to help the disadvantaged, and needy people throughout the UK and beyond if possible. This is mainly through self-referral and direct referrals from the Manchester city council, SureStart Manchester, Manchester Womens Aid, NHS and local schools to help struggling families, especially during the festive periods when we provide hampers, toys and toiletries. This year we also paid for two funerals in England for people who could not afford to be buried.

The foodbank that we run on a weekly basis is located at the Pankhurst centre in central Manchester, where we receive and distribute food parcels, clothing, baby equipment, toiletries, baby milk and nappies etc to those in need, especially victims of domestic violence, refugees, asylum seekers, families waiting for benefits or those just struggling to make ends meet in order to improve conditions that people are faced with on a day to day basis.

The most up to date source of information continues to be on our Instagram and Facebook

pages with latest updates and activities posted on a regular basis.

SNHH charity is a volunteer run organisation, with the support and dedication of our volunteers and generous contributors we support people in the community suffering from poverty and distress.

A big thank you to our Volunteers, who have committed countless hours of their valuable

time to community work in our city and beyond, may they be blessed with plenty!

Also, a big thank you to all the organisations and individuals that donate food / toiletries etc for distribution, especially BARE NECESSITIES TOILETRY BANK who provide generous donations for all our service users throughout the year.

The charity has a strong balance sheet position (please see accounts submitted) at the

period end, which is sufficient to cover ongoing costs, plans are afoot for expanding our services by establishing a weekly cooked meal for the elderly and needy people once we have a premises to do this. Volunteers in Birmingham have continued to support women to discuss their issues and provide food parcels through monthly Chit, Chat and Chai sessions.
