## **Achievements and Performance** 



|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Over the course of the year, the charity has provided<br>service users with twice weekly face-to-face meetings for<br>recovering alcoholics and those who are looking to achieve<br>and maintain abstinence from alcohol.<br>The charity has a strong core of service users who have<br>long periods of abstinence from alcohol. These service<br>users offer advice and support to new service users who<br>are looking to achieve and maintain periods of abstinence<br>from alcohol. The regularly meetings involve check-ins and<br>discussions about alcohol and the challenges faces by<br>those who are addicted to alcohol. Service users with<br>longer periods of abstinence are role models for those<br>looking to achieve sobriety.<br>The charity has continued to distribute promotional<br>material to to engage with people who realise they have a<br>problem with alcohol and are looking to explore sobriety.<br>The charity has continued to work with established venues<br>to hold meetings. These venues are chosen to be easily<br>accessible to service users as they are on main bus routes<br>and provide ample parking.<br>As a result of these activities, new service users have<br>engaged with the charity’s support groups. These new<br>members have benefited from the advice and support of<br>long-term members who have been sober for a number of<br>years. Some of these new members have managed to<br>stop drinking for a prolonged period of time, reducing<br>pressure on other services.|
