Achievements and Performance

Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Over the course of the year, the charity has continued to
provide face-to-face meetings for recovering alcoholics
and those who are looking to achieve and maintain
abstinence from alcohol.
The charity has continued to engage with service users
who have maintained long periods of abstinence from
alcohol, providing then with an opportunity to regularly
meet and discuss the challenges of maintaining their
sobriety. The charity had also continued to distribute
promotional material to to engage with people who realise
they have a problem with alcohol and are looking to
explore sobriety. Members who have had a longer period
of abstinence offer advice and support and act as role
models for newer service users.
The charity has continued to work with established venues
to hold meetings. These venues are chosen to be easily
accessible to service users as they are on main bus routes
and provide ample parking.
The charity had also continued to distribute promotional
material to other alcohol services in the city and informs
newer service users of these services.
As a result of these activities, new service users have
engaged with the charity’s support groups. These new
members have benefited from the advice and support of
long term members who have been sober for a number of
years. Some of these new members have managed to
stop drinking for a prolonged period of time, reducing
pressure on other services.
