whole.|Over the course of the year, the charity resumed face to
face support group meetings for service users as and when
venues have reopened after the COVID 19 pandemic
restrictions have eased.
The charity has reengaged with many past members who
were unable to attend any face to face meetings due to the
restrictions imposed by the pandemic or by venues being
closed during this time. These members have welcomed the
chance to attend meetings and discuss the continuing
challenges of abstinence as well as the challenges faced
during the pandemic.
The charity has redesigned its promotional material in order
to reach out to, and engage, new members who may be
struggling to achieve or maintain abstinence form alcohol.
These materials are displayed prominently in the venues
that we use and have been distributed to other alcohol
services in the city to be distributed to anyone who is
serious about stopping drinking.
On the advice of service users, the charity has produced
discreet, pocket sized business cards with the details of
meetings so they can be kept in purses and wallets.
As a result of these promotional materials, new service
users have engaged with the charity’s support groups.
These new members have benefited from the advice and
support of long term members who have been sober for a
number of years. Some of these new members have
managed to stop drinking for a prolonged period of time,
