Lancaster Judges’Lodgings Museum Trust Trustees report for the year ended 31 December 2023
The trustees have met regularly with the officials of Lancashire County Council who run the museum to influence the decisions made regarding the running of the museum.
The trustees have worked closely with the the Friends of Lancaster Judges’Lodgings who have raised funds to improve the museum.
The year herald the completion of improvements to the display in a number of rooms.
A display of paintings and drawings ( specifically commissioned for the museum) representing slaves who were involved in the triangular trade that brought prosperity to many of the merchants and their relatives whose portraits are displayed in the museum were displayed throughout the building.
The trust donated funds to light up for Lancaster resulting in a display on the building during this event relevant to the building and contents .
The trustees submitted a proposal ( plan and costing)to LCC for improvements to the garden area at the rear of the . The aim being to make it more usable and in keeping with the building
