Trustees Annual Report 2022-2023

During 2022-2023 we still saw the effects of Covid-19 Coronavirus Pandemic on the social aspect of children’s development.

However, we have continued to support children in their learning with a focus on children’s play and their personal social and emotional skills.

At the Primary school’s Christmas Fayre with held a very successful Tombola and our Annual Sponsored Trundle raised over £500 for which we thank all our parents for supporting.

To celebrate the King’s Coronation, the children made their own crowns and we had a special Cornish Cream Tea with jam on first! During the year, we planned a variety of stimulating activities for our pupils including watching tadpoles grow into frogs, caterpillars turning into butterflies and having butterfly buns to celebrate a successful release into our garden.

As part of our curriculum to promote and good oral health we had encouraged the children to practice their toothbrushing skills by cleaning hard boiled eggs which had been coffee stained. We also purchased toothbrushing kits for the children to take home as part of our commitment to engage parents as partners in children’s learning and development.

We completed a successful transition for our school leavers with 22 children leaving in July 2023 to begin the next step of their learning journey into mainstream education. To celebrate our end of term we invited children, parents and our staff to a free trip to Newquay Zoo which was enjoyed by all.

Finally, our After-School provision in Bibbles had another successful year and the income has contributed to our sustainability, hopefully well into the future.
