The trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.

## **Achievements and performance**

This year we have welcomed 18 new members. We continue to improve people’s lives by creating a community of friends, all on a journey through dementia, able to support each other. Many of our members continue within the group long after the person they cared for has died or moved into long-term care. The positive impact of our work resonates through families and the wider community, as evidenced partially through funeral collections and other donations.

## **Financial review**

This year our income has exceeded our expenditure by ten thousand pounds. This is due to the combination of successful fundraising followed unfortunately by the reduced capacity of our trustee team. These issues, beyond our control, should be resolved in the next financial year, enabling us to fully spend these funds for the benefit of our members and the wider public.

We continue to hold over £40,000 in an endowment fund, for the provision of a day service, although there are no immediate plans for the use of this fund.

## **Structure, governance and management**

We are registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). Our members elect the trustees to their posts annually.
