Trustees: Mr. H Bowron, Mrs. B Kirk, Mr. R Peart, Mrs. Y Palmer and Mrs. K Bowron (representing the WI).

The following trustees resigned during the year: Mrs. M. Dickinson and Mr. R. Farmer.

We actively seek new trustees to join the management team by writing to the hall’s main user groups prior to each AGM asking if they wish to nominate a chosen representative as well as approaching members of the parish both personally and via the local parish magazine.

Purpose of the Charity

As set out in the charity’s governing document the purpose of the charity is to run the parish hall and recreation field in Kirkandrews on Eden in such a way as to promote them for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Parish of Beaumont.

Activities During the Year

During the year monthly coffee mornings and family bingo nights were run as well as specific events including King Charles III coronation party, August afternoon teas, Community Pop Up Café, Children’s Halloween Party, an Autumn Craft Fair, Christmas wreath making as well as a Play and various talks, the annual Bonfire Night, over 60’s lunch and Children’s Christmas Party.

The hall was well supported by its community user groups the WI, the flower club, the parish council, local youth club, summer playscheme, a weekly yoga class and short mat bowling as well as general hall hire.

Financial Activities

The hall received £455 of maintenance grants from Beaumont Parish Council for the grass cutting and £1,330 from Cumberland Council for the Kings Coronation. A grant of £1,060 was also received from a Lottery Fund.

General hall activities brought in an income of £6,167.63 and general expenditure was £6,098.36, creating a surplus of £69.27.

Fundraising for the New Hall continued with £10,427.18 being raised by way of fundraising events, donations and grants. Expenditure in relation to the New Hall fund amounted to £6,281.32 of which professional fees were £6,260.

The Charity remains in a strong financial position overall with reserves of £89,903.88 compared to £85,688.75 last year This report was accepted by the trustees of Beaumont Parish Hall at their AGM on Wednesday 31st May 2024.
