NORTH WALES ACCESSIBLE HOLIDAYS FOR BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED REGISTERED CHARITY NUMBER 1171132 TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FOR 1ST FEB2024 TO 31ST JAN 2025 TRUSTEES: Mrs June Karen Garry Mr Edmund Dottin Ms Rachel Roberts Mrs Beverley Stoddart Mr Anthony Gough Ms Lauren Wigglesworth Mr Richard Zimbler Since gaining charitable status on the 17[th] January 2017 our organisation commenced with no funds. However, our Trustees are pleased to report that in year 8 we have raised the amazing sum of £53,761.68 this is a financial decrease of £8,795.89 this is due to a lack of financial support from Trusts and Foundations, also Supermarket store collections are down due to the current financial climate and a lack of volunteers. Our expenditure for the year is £93,401.54 this is due to the Charity upgrading one of the caravans to a superb Dorchester Lodge at a cost of £69,995.00. Leaving us with a balance of £39,639.86. Our core running costs include subsidised tariffs for our client group, ground rents, insurance for both caravans, gas, electricity, safety checks, maintenance plus administration and fundraising costs to generate income. The vast majority of our charity’s income was raised from community fundraising, in terms of undertaking 98 (an additional 11 days to previous year) days collecting in supermarkets. These have proved extremely beneficial in terms of raising invaluable income but also raising awareness of our aims and objectives which are to continue providing free and subsidised breaks for Blind and Partially sighted people in a safe, comfortable and most importantly independent environment. We have 10 collecting boxes out in shops etc, 2 grants from Trusts, 2 regular direct debits. To date we have 173 registrations enrolled to our charity. Our charity Facebook page as now 4,025 followers an increase of 69. Also, our Instagram page is picking up more followers. Our Trustees have all received a copy of the annual accounts and duly accepted and adopted them following the independent examination by Mrs Ann Harty. Unfortunately, Mrs Rowena Thomas Breese MBE stood down from the board of Trustees for personal reasons on the 30[th] January 2024 her work has been acknowledged. We also welcomed Mr Richard Zimbler who is visually impaired to the board of Trustees.
