Period ending 31 August 2025
The Trustees present their report and financia I statements for the yea r ending 31st August 2025. The Trustees confirm
that the report and the statement of receipts and payments of the charity comply with the current statutory requirements
and the requirements of the charit¢s governing document.
Objective5 and Activities
The Foundation was registered with the Charity Commission on 13 Janua ry 2017. Its object is to advance education in
accorda nce with the Religious Society of Friends IQLta kersl in such ways as the charity Trustees think fit and in pa rticular
to adva nce the education of past, present and future pupils of The Mount School York Ithe schooll
The Tru5tee5 confirm that they have complied with the duty in Section 4 of the Charities Act 2006 to have due regard to
the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit.
Achievements and Performance
The Trustees were very grateful to receive a donation of £150,000 from the Stacey Sisters Trust. We give thanks to
Christine J ohnson a nd her brother the late Michael Johnson for this generous gift towa rds bursa ries in memory of the
Stacey Sisters. The first awards have been made for the school year 2025-6. Very sadly Christine Johnson passed away in
the summer of 2025 and was unable to share in the commemorations and celebration of this gift.
The Trustees were also grateful to receive other donations tota Iling £11,989 during the accounting period, both for
general funds and for bursaries.
Trustees pa id grants of £5,045 from restricted funds towards bursaries, pri2es a nd awa rds and further education support
during the year. From unrestricted funds, Trustees awarded grants for the Foundation office and for the CRM system
which the school use5 to communicate with old scholar5.
Financial Review
The total invested with Brewin Dolphin was va lued at £143,613 at the yea r-end. £35,000 was transferred to cash during
the year to meet grant commitments. Taking account of this. there was a net gain of £28,072 (net of investment
manager's costs) in the value of investments held compared with the previous year end. The investments produced an
income of £482 during the year.
During the year the Trustees carried out a tender for an investment manager. CCLA Investment Management have been
appointed and the work to transfer funds from Brewin Dolphin is underway. £123,000 of the monies received from the
Stacey Sisters Trust will also be tra nsferred to CCLA. The Trustee5 would like to thank Brewin Dolphin for their
management of the Foundation's funds since 2017.
At the year-end there were grant commitments of £25, 277, including the first Stacey Sisters, bursaries, all of which are
listed under liabilities.
Legal costs of £1, 147 were incurred during the year covering advice on the Stacey Sisters Trust donation. Other costs of
£86 were bank charges and annual membership of the Information Commissioners Office.
A reserve of unrestricted funds of at least £5,000 has been developed, which in the Trustees, view should be adequate to
meet one off costs. Taking account of grant commitments of £3,980, adjusted unrestricted funds were £7,211 at year end.
Thi5 15 ahead of the agreed policy and Trustees expect to make further grants to bring the balance c105er to the preferred
reserve level during the next financia l yea r.

Structure Governance and Management
The Foundation is a Community Interest Organisation
Trustee5 are a combination of ex officio a ppointees from The Mount School York, being the Head, the Chief Fina ncial
Officer or equivalent, the Clerk and the Deputy Clerk of School Committee, two Trustees nominated by old scholars of the
school. and one Trustee who is nominated by the Mount School Association IMSAI. The Trustees of the Foundation can
nominate additional Trustees who bring complementary skills for the benefit of the Foundation.
We welcomed Anna Wilby and Greg Willmott a5 trustees who replaced David Griffiths and Margaret Bryan respectively.
The Trustees are grateful to Michael Sturge FCA who has volunteered to continue in his role as I ndependent Exa miner.
Day to day accounting is ha ndled by the school and the Trustees take responsibility for the Annua l Report and Accounts.
The Trustees would like to thank The Mount School York for providing administrative services and support to the
Foundation.

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of The Mount School York Foundation
(Charity No. 1171116)
I report on the accounts of The Mount School York Foundation for the year ended 31 August
2025 which are set out on pages 1 to 2.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the
2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by
the Charity Commission under section 14515)(b} of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention
in connection with the examination which gives me cause lo believe that, in any material respect:
The accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities
Act., or
The accounts did not accord with the accounting records- or
The accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and
content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008
other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view which is not a
matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no matters in connection with the examination to
which attenlion should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached.
