Due to Covid, Communication for Trustee meetings moved fully on-line via Zoom which has actually proved easier to manage than arranging physical meetings.

A major step forward in terms of charity development has been working with a charity and business development consultant. The advice and guidance gained has immediately payed dividends both in devising a fundraising strategy for the charity and in completing applications for funding opportunities, many of which have been successful.

In response to the Covid pandemic, the charity has developed appropriate risk assessment procedures in consultation with Disability Stockport to maximise the safe working in our venue whenever it has deemed necessary to engage with face to face activities. As the people we work with are extremely vulnerable we had already ceased physical workshops before the official lockdown, and moved towards a fully virtual delivery model.

The period covered by this Annual Report has been made especially challenging due to the Covid pandemic. Because OmniMusic works with particularly vulnerable people, we had stopped our face to workshops before the official lockdown. Work was then initially directed at carrying out research and development into the most effective ways into delivery our programme of work remotely. We evolved an optimum method which entailed a hybrid type of approach which enabled us to have participants join workshops remotely from their homes, day centres and residential centres. There have been definite positives to the pandemic. For example we can now, in theory, involve participants remotely from hospital beds - we began a dialogue with Christies Hospital which may lead to patients there being able to join our physical workshops once they re-start.

Independent Examiner’s Report

TO THE TRUSTEES OF OMNIMUSIC

I report on the accounts for the charity for the year ended 31st March 2021 which are set out on pages 7 to 8.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

Basis of independent examiner's report

My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent examiner's statement

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

have not been met; or

(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
