young people aged 13 to 21 met weekly
with two volunteer adult leaders per group.
In 2025 we enrolled 50 young people and 8
volunteer leaders. They undertook a
structured and challenging programme for
personal development, community action
and fund raising. The weekly programme
included education eg drugs and alcohol
awareness, healthy eating and cookery, art
and music therapy, also personal fitness,
team building, first aid, healthy relationships
and activities that build confidence. 18
young people had a residential weekend
climbing Snowdon. Community action
included helping at community events such
as stalls at local festivals ( 23 worked at the|

Group sessions were run (448 hours) and
residential trips (216 hours) led by group
leader volunteers and young leaders.
Some groups sessions were delivered by
volunteers and fund raising activities for the
charity were also run by 23 volunteers.
Total volunteer hours in 2025 were 952.|

continued to have a very successful year
following the new three part programme.
No group was at the final stage of
embarking on a foreign volunteering trip.|

The young people without doubt benefitted
from the programme; most attended all the
meetings, many remarked on their growth
in confidence, several achieved
employment eg working in a local travel
agency, training to become a nurse. They
all said they could not have done this
without the confidence and support they
gained from YCO.|
The Police Commission awarded YCO their top grant in 2025 in recognition of the impact YCO was having in Wantage where young people ( NEET) had been upsetting local shoppers. The community events run by groups eg bingo nights brought together families and other local people who enjoyed their interaction with the group.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31/ 12/ 2025** .
**Responsibilities and** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the **basis of report** accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
