particulady at risk from isolation. However it
was not possible to lead any trips to Kenya
due to the Kenyan travel restrictions.
Achievements and Performance
2021 was again a challenging year due to
Covid restrictions. Yoco's main
achievement was. therefore, to safely
continue group meetings both fao to fa
where possible (often in outside SPa￿s)
and. although much Fess so than in 2020,
still occasionally online using Zoom.

Para 1.5)
The pandemic had changed the needs of
our young people with a significant rise in
mental health and other complex issues. In
2021 the tharity increased the number of
Yun. actrvities in the programme to get the
young people out of their rooms and
schools to interact wtth each other and the
der work. A new trustee was recrurted,
a leading psychotherapist with a keen
interest in developing community work and
servI￿s. The one to one 'Walk and Talk,
programme of mentoring individual,
vulnerable young people by volunteers
continued and proved to be essential work
during lockd¢?%￿ and beyond.
Training and development of volunteer
youth group leaders continued to be
enhanced. YOCO aims to recruit
volunteers from within the local communty
as the wider involvement of the local
communty has a signifiGant impact on the
success of the wogramme. The families of
young Feople are encouraged to help with
fund raising events and are encouraged to
become involved with YOCO themselves.
Continued Covrd restridions made it more
d[ffi￿lt than in some years for the young to
volunteer in their i)wn community but they
were able to deliver food from local
foodbanks, to engage wtth those who were
housebound. to run a stall in a local market
which loGal communities really enjoyed,
online ￿ng0 events and run a very
Suc￿sful firework everrt for the whole of
the local communty.
