Trustees are elected annually at the AGM held in January.All trustees are volunteers and are paid no salary nor do they receive any “employee benefits”.
The Hall was purpose built in 1921 and donated by Viscount Cliffdon to the people of Lanhydrock by a deed of covenant for the purposes of providing a meeting place for the whole community . The objectives of the Charity are to provide a meeting place for the inhabitants of the Parish of Lanhydrock and the wider community without distinction of age disability race religion or sexual orientation.
In pursuit of these objectives the Hall is used for a variety of activities by a diverse range of groups and organisations including Yoga,religious groups,art & craft,music,dance,floral art,health and as a polling station for elections.The Hall is also available for private hire and is used for private functions,weddings etc.as well as for fundraising events including a summer fete, Christmas Bazzar and Carol Singing.
Fees for users are set annually to cover day to day running costs. Fundraising is undertaken to fund improvement works. Costs are minimised by the use of volunteers.Grounds maintenance and cleaning are undertaken by local self employed contractors whose rates are reviewed annually. Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Investment Policies have been adopted. The Hall is insured with Allied Westminster.Cover includes Buildings,contents,employers/public liability,legal expenses and trustee indemnity.
The Hall is licensed by Cornwall Council for 100 people sitting 200 standing. Fire equipment is provided as recommended by an independent supplier and serviced.The electrical system is tested every five years.The boiler is serviced annually. No salaries or employee benefits are paid No expenditure is undertaken overseas No funds are transferred outside the banking system No income source comes from outside the UK ( including none from foreign governments,quasi government charities NGO’s/NPO’s institutions or individual unknown donors) Two Accounts are held by the Hall 1st A Treasurers A/c with Lloyds Bank Plc 2nd COIF Charities Deposit Fund Reserves have been identified and are used for building improvements.
