The Trustees are pleased to present their annual report together with the financial statements for the Age Partnership Charitable Foundation (‘the Foundation’), for the period ending 31 December 2020

The Trustees confirm that the financial statements presented comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Companies Act 2006, the Memorandum and Articles of Association, and Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2015).

Objectives and Activities:

a. Objectives

Founded in 2017, the Foundation is a grant-making organisation that is funded by the goodwill of others, in addition to its own fundraising initiatives.

The foundation’s goal is to provide support (through grants) to local charities, community projects, individuals, voluntary groups, activities and good causes that make a positive difference in the Yorkshire area.

The Foundations objectives are to advance such charitable purposes (in accordance with the applicable laws of England and Wales), as the Trustees see fit from time to time.

b. Grant making policies

Financial Review:

a. Overview of Results

During the period the charity received donations totalling £10,726. This includes initial donations of £10,000 from Age Partnership Limited and further fundraising and donations from employees of Age Partnership Limited and Pure Retirement Limited. During the period the foundation made total donations of £15,559.

The donations collected are not restricted for use and as at 31 December 2020, unrestricted funds amounted to £505. Such an amount was not fully exhausted during the period due to the trustees' decision to leave sufficient funds available for future donations.

b. Going Concern

After making appropriate enquiries, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason they continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements. Further details regarding the adoption of the going concern basis can be found in the Accounting Policies.

c.

Principal Funding

The Foundation is principally supported by donations provided by the Age Partnership Group, the Group’s employees and also its own fundraising activities.

Structure, Governance and Management:

a. Constitution

The principal objective of the charity is to advance charitable purpose (according to the law of England and Wales) as the trustees see fit from time to time. The foundation's main focus is to provide donations to small local charities and when possible, the aim is to provide financial assistance for a specific cause or project being undertaken by such charities.

b. Method of appointment or election of Trustees

The management of the charity is the responsibility of the Trustees who are elected and co-opted under the terms of the Trust deed.

c. Policies adopted for the Induction and training of Trustees

During the setting up of the foundation, professional assistance was sought and appropriate guidance obtained with respect to the role of the trustees and their powers. Furthermore, the trustees follow the guidance as provided by the Charity Commission in the UK.

d. Risk management

The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, in particular those related to the operations and finances of the charity, and are satisfied that systems and procedures are in place to mitigate our exposure to the major risks.
