In working towards the objectives, the Trustees have considered the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and have worked towards making Earlesfield Community Church as accessible and inclusive as possible to all the community.

Church Activities

The work and influence of Earlesfield Community church has continued to grow over the last year. The local youth centre has proved to be a great place to meet. This is accessible to our community and the facilities are ideal. Sunday gatherings have grown steadily both from local people and those joining us from other churches. The monthly meal usually attracts a few new commers. Our congregation is made up of many different ages and stages, from older folk to lots of families with children. The children are catered for during the sermon with ‘Sunday Club’ which they love and are excited about attending.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Tuesday evening Bible studies give opportunity for lively debate and are valuable for people to ask questions and interact further with the teaching received on Sunday.

A week of Summer Camp was a highlight this year with around fifty children and young people enjoying all the activities and fun as well as hearing the Gospel, some for the first time. A great team of volunteers made this possible.

We hosted a team of university students from Mississippi over the May half term holidays. The team enjoyed their visit and local folk are still talking about the community activities held during their visit.

Easter and Christmas activities were very popular again this year with outstanding attendances. Our community were very grateful and appreciated the effort we put into all these activities.

Hope Community Café is a hive of activity and is widely accepted as a community hub on our estate. The café is loved by our community and is as busy as we can cope with! We continue to accommodate several placement students from various learning providers across Grantham. A number of groups and organisations from the wider area use the café as a place to meet, chat and enjoy a good coffee.
